- This is the first Smash Summit tournament where players can be eliminated by a Swiss pools format instead of the standard double-elimination format.
- As a direct result of this, since more singles sets were played overall, this is also the first Melee Smash Summit tournament to forgo having a Doubles tournament.
- This is the first Smash Summit where 18 players competed instead of 16.
- This is the first Summit with a Swiss Pools format where a player did not drop a game during the Pools stage, with Hungrybox going 15-0 in games (5-0 in sets) against the rest of his pool.
- Excluding forfeits and sandbagging, this is the first tournament that Leffen placed outside of Top 8 since GameTyrant Expo 2017.
- This is the third odd numbered Smash Summit in a row where Hungrybox has won.
