Metagross (メタグロス, Metagurosu) is a fictional creature in the Pokemon franchise. It appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a Poké Ball Pokémon.

Creature description

Metagross a large tank-like arachnid Pokémon whose turquoise-coloured, discus-shaped main body appears to be its head. The four-limbed Metagross is a fusion of its pre-evolved forms, essentially either two two-limbed Metang or four one-limbed Beldum. The Pokedex describes it as living comfortable on steep slopes.

Metagross has high intelligence afforded by the fact that it has four brains in its head body connected by a highly complex neural network. In addition to being physically strong, it can also use psychic abilities, including the ability to render its massive body airborne by telekinesis once it retracts its legs upward.

From when Metagross was introduced in the third generation, it was one of the strongest non-legendary Pokemon species to use for battle in the competitive metagame for the Pokémon RPGs.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

As a Poké Ball Pokémon

Metagross is appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a Poké Ball Pokémon and uses Earthquake, It takes over the role of Venusaur in Super Smash Bros. Melee. When summoned, it slams a claw in the ground. Any opponent caught in the shockwave is buried in the ground and takes heavy damage. It struggles to grab the claw back out of the ground, before slaming another in. It repeats this several times. The attack does not harm the user. Strangely, Metagross's Earthquake behaves completely different from Venusaur's, being more of a Stomp.

As a Trophy

An Iron Leg Pokémon. When two Beldum combine, they evolve into a Metang. In the same way, a Metagross is the result of two Metang combining. It's said to have intelligence that can match a supercomputer. Though it weighs 1,212.5 pounds, it is somehow able to fold up its legs and float.

Glitch

Discovered by 00tommot00, if Metagross is summoned in a small space equivalant to the area of a block from stage builder, it will spaz out.
