Gil, short for Gilgamesh (ギルガメッシュ, Gilgamesh), is the protagonist of Bandai Namco's The Tower of Druaga franchise.

Origin

Gil first appeared in the 1984 arcade game The Tower of Druaga. The game featured Gil traversing the titular tower's 60 floors, fighting monsters and obtaining treasure in order to rescue the shrine maiden Ki from the demon Druaga.

Gil's Hyper Armor is the basis of a downloadable content costume for Mii Swordfighters. His original sprite in his default armor from The Tower of Druaga can also appear in Pac-Man's Namco Roulette taunt.

Gil's sprite returns in Pac-Man's Namco Roulette taunt.
