The attack also has endlag in the form of the Brawler's recovery animation (the animation of them standing back up after hitting the ground headfirst), which is short but still enough for opponents who weren't buried to punish them. The move also produces a blue shockwave at the end of the move.

Head-On Assault (くい打ちヘッドバット, Piledriving Headbutt) is one of the three down special moves usable by Mii Brawlers.

Overview[edit]

The move acts similarly to Bowser's Bowser Bomb and Yoshi's Yoshi Bomb. On the ground, the Mii leaps diagonally upwards into the air, flips upside down and heads straight to the ground, landing on its head. The grounded version has an initial hitbox that leads into the main hit. In the air, the Mii will skip straight to flipping upside down and headbutting. The move can actually catch the ledge's sweetspot only if used while facing one, making it usable for edgeguarding.

The headbutt has the ability to bury opponents in Super Smash Bros. 4, similarly to Zero Suit Samus's Flip Jump, though its impact range is rather small. The attack also has heavy ending lag and deals low damage to shields, making it easily punishable. As such, the move is rarely used in competitive play, apart from hard punishes or setting up sacrificial KOs while having a stock lead.

In Ultimate, the move is visually the same, except the move does not bury opponents. In addition, the move is now a multi-hit attack, and deals heavy shield damage, being able to break a full shield if both ground hits connect. However, the move's final hit now deals less damage if initiated from the ground. The move also possesses a rising hitbox in addition to the initial scoop hitbox, however, the rising hitbox can be airdodged out of, limiting the move's use as a combo ender.
