When summoned, both Latias and Latios scoot off in opposite directions. They zoom back and cross paths in an X-fashion, similar to [[Kat & Ana]] Assist Trophy. Like all Pokemon summoned by a character, they do not harm the person who summoned them.

Latias and Latios are fictional creatures in the Pokemon franchise. They appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a 2-in-1 Poké Ball Pokémon.

Creature description

Sporting the same structures of jet-like "dragons", Latios and Latios are twin Pokémon. Latias is red and calm. Latios is blue and aggressive (which is usually considered opposite for these colors). They were the first Legendary Pokémon to have gender, although this changed with the introduction of Generation IV Pokémon Cresselia and Heatran. Latias are always female, whilst Latios are always male.

Introduced in the 3rd generation, the player could catch one of them after defeating the the Elite 4 and the other from a special event involving the Eon Ticket. The would-be-caught Lati is dependant on what version you have; Latias for Sapphire and Latios for Ruby, (although in Emerald you could chose by a television report)

Both Latis bear a special attack unique to them only, Mist Ball and Luster Purge respectively.

As a Poké Ball Pokémon

Latias and Latios appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a 2-in-1 Poké Ball Pokémon, marking the first time two different species Pokémon come out of one Poké Ball. Only one will come out, but both have the same outcome.

When summoned, both Latias and Latios scoot off in opposite directions. They zoom back and cross paths in an X-fashion, similar to Kat & Ana Assist Trophy. The impact causes heavy damage, and knockback is little. The winds from their speed pick up and affect items and characters, forming a sort of "vacuum" at their intersections. They do not harm the person who summoned them. Despite them being very rare in the Pokemon games (running from you at every opportunity) they are actually quite common in Brawl.
