Sin & Punishment[edit]

I heard that the "Sin & Punishment" AT was actually the main character, and a male. I think his name was Saki or something? We need to get proof of this.

Little Mac[edit]

Since Little Mac has been confirmed, shouldn't we delete the link of 1up.com? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Infested Terran (talkcontribs)

Yes we only need to change it to Little Mac page at dojo. also sing your post with four tildes (~ ~ ~ ~ ). --Fandangox 12:19, October 28, 2007 (EDT)

Assist Trophy Tier List[edit]

More of an idea than anything else, but wouldn't an assist trophy tier list be interesting?

Metroid[edit]

Can anyone provide a link to the gameplay video with this assist trophy? M Shark 18:24, November 20, 2007 (EST)

Duster and Princess Rosalina[edit]

Brawl Central says that they've been confirmed.--Aipom--

Infantry and Jill[edit]

These shouldn't need to be considered unconfirmed, although they did not appear on the dojo as of yet. this video clearly shows Samus holding up the assist trophy and the Infantry popping out. Then look at this video and wait until the first plummet the characters take. Jill is definitely there drilling across the screen. You have to see it to believe it. List of removed Assist Trophies[edit]

Who ever said that Princess Rosalina, Tails, and Duster ATs were removed from the game? I could see Ridley being on the list as his leftover AT data was found on the game disc. There was no proof that Rosalina, Tails, and the Duster AT ever existed as an AT in Brawl. -- The Magnum Master 14:24, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

The Rarity?[edit]

Are certain characters more likely to appear? Or are some just less likely to appear? I've rarely seen the Helirin Assist Trophy, and I think that this one is a rare one. I need help on determining if some are more likely or less likely to appear. Learner4 (talk) 17:02, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

"Three" third parties?[edit]

The intro says three third party Assists. Who's the third? Dr. Wright? Cause he's supposed to be owned by Nintendo. Or maybe it was by some Mega Man/Geno freak who were desperate to get either of them an article or at least a mention. :/ --RoyboyX (talk) 14:38, 25 September 2011 (EDT)

Frequency[edit]

Some Assist Trophies are definitely more common than others. For example, I've noticed that Gray Fox appears relatively rarely,a s compared to Lakitu and Spinies. Series Name[edit]

I think it would help to have each AT's series name next to their character name. I would, but i don't know all of the character's series names, and i am too lazy to research it.Pokémonultimate PokémonTrainerHeadSSBB.png 17:15, 26 November 2011 (EST)

Stafy in Smash 4[edit]

How come Starfy is not listed as Assist Trophy? In Brawl, he was but why not in SSB4? Dragon NJMB (talk) 03:52, 7 February 2014 (EST)

Because it wasn't officially confirmed yet (Sakurai didn't say he was one in the screenshot with him). He is probably an assist trophy again, we just want official confirmation first though before stating it as fact on the Wiki. Also, this question should be in its own section. I "think" =/= I "know". We gain nothing from stating that they're Assist Trophies before they are officially confirmed to be so. MegaTron1XDDecepticon.png 13:54, 15 April 2014 (EDT)

All-Star Mode[edit]

When Sakurai was introducing the Assist Trophy section of the Smash Bros. Direct he said that he wants to add as many Assist Trophies as possible because they are implemented into All-Star Mode. First of all, this confirms that All-Star Mode will return. Second of all, I feel this is a significant tidbit to add to the "Super Smash Bros. 4" section. Thoughts? Waaaaluigi[edit]

Why does it say he's from the Wario series in SSB4 but the Mario series in SSBB? 1) He's never been in any Wario games 2) please be consistent, it bothers me. Nutta Butta (talk) 19:14, 15 May 2014 (EDT)

During the Assist Trophy reveal in the Smash Direct, Waluigi was listed with a Warioware symbol. Yeah, I'm just as confused about it as you are. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 19:42, 15 May 2014 (EDT)

Remember this. Sakurai loves trolling people, so this could've been his way of doing that. Or, it could be hinting at something glorious... --EpicWendigo (talk) 01:19, 16 May 2014 (EDT)

In that case can we change Brawl to be Wario too? Nutta Butta (talk) 14:28, 16 May 2014 (EDT)

No, because he's clearly labeled as Mario universe in Brawl. Miles (talk) 18:33, 16 May 2014 (EDT)

m****a now I find that uv remains mario is a pity that did not change to uv wario which has more good future I think, it is also a shame that it is discarded as a fighter would have similar attacks to luigi and wario some own attacks. 37.14.119.249 20:09, 13 October 2014 (EDT)

Chunky?[edit]

Seen a rumor going around saying Chunky Kong from DK64 is an Assist Trophy in the demo, but I haven't been able to find any footage to confirm it. Anyone else seen any? Miles (talk) 18:50, 16 June 2014 (EDT)

Very interesting. Where did you hear this rumor? --EpicWendigo (talk) 19:38, 16 June 2014 (EDT)

I don't remember which sites in particular, but I remember it being on at least two plus I heard about it from several of my friends over Skype, too. Sounds like it was more widespread than just one person claiming it. Miles (talk) 20:01, 16 June 2014 (EDT)
That's incredible! However, we need photographic evidence of it. For now, let's put this in the rumor section if this is so widespread. --EpicWendigo (talk) 20:08, 16 June 2014 (EDT)
We can't. Unfortunately (and no offense to Miles), Skype conversations [that aren't recorded] aren't credible and Miles doesn't have any links to said "rumors." Like Rudy the Clown, Chunky Kong lost his relevance in 2000 (every other character from DK64 has appeared in some capacity in later games), so I doubt he's going to appear anyway. blue ninjakoopa 20:14, 16 June 2014 (EDT)
Didn't say it should be on the rumors page, nor that my conversations were a credible source. I just was asking if anybody had spotted him in footage, was all. Miles (talk) 20:16, 16 June 2014 (EDT)
Hopefully, someone did. If so many people were talking about it, chances are there is plenty of room for credibility. --EpicWendigo (talk) 21:17, 16 June 2014 (EDT)

Duster, Rosalina and Muddy Mole[edit]

On Smashboards I saw a bunch of guys suggesting that maybe there is some extra data on the second layer of the Brawl disc. No one has ever cracked that layer, which may hold some insight into more scrapped elements of Brawl, and may even have evidence of the three rumored ATs. Something to think about perhaps. RoyboyX Talk 12:02, 3 August 2014 (EDT)

I find this highly unlikely, especially the claim that the second layer is uncracked (I thought that's were all the SSE files were). Toomai Glittershine ??? The Wacko 12:26, 3 August 2014 (EDT)

Unlisted SSB4 (3DS) Assist Trophy[edit]

This is mentioned in the tips section of the European demo:

Assist Trophy: Ghosts
"Pinky will try to catch her target out by getting in front and ambushing them. Clyde doesn't have a target - he just does whatever he likes." Torchickens (talk) 20:06, 12 September 2014 (EDT)

Update: I got another hint with the same title but with different text:

"Blinky will take the shortest route possible to reach his target. Inky comes in from the opposite side and moves much more randomly." Torchickens (talk) 20:09, 12 September 2014 (EDT)

And another..

"Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde will all appear on the stage! They each have their own movement patterns and will hurt opponents who touch them." Torchickens (talk) 20:16, 12 September 2014 (EDT)
That's listed on the page as Ghosts. What exactly is the problem? Miles (talk) 22:15, 13 October 2014 (EDT)
No problem. I wrote that comment in September before the game was released and before it was added to the page. Torchickens (talk) 17:10, 15 October 2014 (EDT)

So artistic.[edit]

So...does anyone know if there's official art for Smash 4 assist trophies (like there was for Brawl)? Serpent King (talk) 14:41, 28 July 2015 (EDT)

There doesn't appear to be any. One of the downsides of the format of the current site is that not a lot besides characters get their own pages, and no art is the result. The Wii U trophies are the closest we have, even though some are obviously recycled official artwork poses like other trophies sometimes are (e.g. Dark Samus). Miles (talk) 15:19, 28 July 2015 (EDT)
That's a shame. Serpent King (talk) 16:04, 28 July 2015 (EDT)

Regarding updating the page for Ultimate[edit]

Completely consolidating the tables[edit]

So any of y'all who've been watching this page over the past few weeks will have noticed I've been making a cross-game table and have just copied the descriptions into it.

My ultimate plan for all of this is to make it so that this article only has one table , because there's a lot of repeated information that I think is really unnecessary.

What I'd like your opinion on is how to proceed with the rest of the consolidation. Right now, the only thing that the individual tables have that the cross-game table doesn't are the relative frequencies and whether an AT can be defeated or not. I'm not entirely certain how we could fit this information into the main table, so I'd be willing to listen to every suggestion y'all got. Ahemtoday (talk) 23:34, 11 July 2018 (EDT)

Attacking Assist Trophies[edit]

I'm curious, was there any proof that Color TV Game-15 could be defeated and vice versa with Sheriff? Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 15:42, 18 July 2018 (EDT)

Attacking Assists isn't new in Ultimate[edit]

I don't know how many people actually know this, but a good amount of Assist Trophies could actually be attacked in Smash 4.

So we should add the "Defeatable" ascension to the Smash 4 section, as well.

Since there are some that can't be defeated, but can be stunned (Such as Ghirahim and Phosphora), I think there should be a separate ascension called "Attackable".

Unfortunately, because this fact is so poorly known, there's next-to-no videos about the Assist Trophies being defeated in Smash 4, so it's gonna be hard to find out who's defeatable or not. SuperSmashTurtles (talk) 18:09, 1 August 2018 (EDT)

Never mind. It actually says that Ghirahim and Phosphora CAN be defeated. I still think we should add the "Defeatable" ascension to the Smash 4 section, though. SuperSmashTurtles (talk) 18:19, 1 August 2018 (EDT)

Direct revealed a few more[edit]

The list was updated to include Shovel Knight, but we still need stuff for Alucard, Nikki, and Rathalos. And I am not the person to do that.72.133.91.93 11:57, 8 August 2018 (EDT)Blueflame105

Render Rip y/n?[edit]

Comparing the two renders side by side, they appear to be very similar but with a small couple of changes. Not sure if this is just ingame or just the website having a better quality render. Should we just merge it off as "from Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" or should we push to rip it from the website?

Ingame from SSB4 compared to the website render from SSBU, they look similar.

Vespacito (talk) 06:33, 3 November 2018 (EDT)

Those Compilation Images....[edit]

They look like they're fan made. Should they even be allowed to be on this page? Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 23:18, July 8, 2019 (EDT)

Even if they are official, they're still just collected and repurposed official art. If their legitimacy is even remotely in question, I don't see why they should be on the page. Ahemtoday (talk) 00:47, July 9, 2019 (EDT)

My problem with the images is that, no offense, but they're not really "aesthetically-pleasing" to look at. I definitely prefer the one used for Brawl's Assists: Just a white background, none of the characters overlap each other, and they're artwork is completely unchanged. SuperSmashTurtles (talk) 01:05, July 9, 2019 (EDT)
Images are now removed, for obvious reasons. Marioisawesome118 Marioisawesome118.png 21:11, July 11, 2019 (EDT)

Hammer Bro Info Sheet[edit]

I know he is also an enemy, but other enemy assist trophies like Chain Chomp and Lakitu have an info sheet and Ridley and Ganon only have info sheets because Ridley’s playable and Ganon’s A Final Smash, so why not give Hammer Bro a character sheet because he’s an assist trophy? 174.55.24.64 16:33, August 20, 2019 (EDT)
