SmashWiki:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive 19

This page is an archive. Do not edit the contents of this page. Direct any additional comments to the current talk page.

The Administrators' noticeboard is intended to be a page to quickly alert the administrators to issues that need their attention.

To make a request or statement, create a new section and provide a neutral, precise summary of events with thought-out reasoning, and, if possible, links to any pages with relevant discussions. It is also a good idea to notify any users involved with the request with a link to the section on this page. Make sure to add new sections to the bottom.

Report vandals and sockpuppets at the top of the appropriate section labeled for such reports using {{IP|Username}}, where Username is the name of the user or the IP vandal's IP address.

For reporting similar and unacceptable usernames, a talk page was formerly used to keep the reports in one place instead of on this page. For future reports, they will be kept under the "Inappropriate usernames" section on this page to keep the reports centralized on the same page.

I think this is a little more than mere ignorance. Alex the Weeb 05:41, May 24, 2021 (EDT)

Still a little bit less than malicious in my eyes. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 05:59, May 24, 2021 (EDT)

Personally, I would've listed their offense under "edit warring" since they don't seem to have any malicious intents. SuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle Tribe 18:56, April 28, 2021 (EDT)

The page has had 7 unique IPs vandalizing it over the past 3 days. May be good to protect it. --CanvasK (talk) 23:25, March 25, 2021 (EDT)

May need to protect For Fun as well. Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection too since that was vandalized by random IPs. --CanvasK (talk) 23:16, March 26, 2021 (EDT)

Seems more like a confused newcomer/kid than a bad-faith editor. I'd suggest a talk page heads-up to them rather than any kind of block. Miles (talk) 23:21, March 23, 2021 (EDT)

Recommend this page is protected for a while, given that this is a recent controversy and a lot of IPs are making counter-productive (albeit good faith) edits. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 16:34, March 3, 2021 (EST)

I think the issue is now resolved, if one more IP comes on and adds on with the nonconstructive edits, I'll the protect the page then. Omega Tyrant 17:10, March 3, 2021 (EST)

Given the fact that 86.99.35.214 is from the UAE, 37.39.211.59 from Kuwait, and Xemoth from Saudi Arabia, I think it has to do with their overall political views on the current Saudi government. By why single Xemoth out is beyond me given that there are likely more Saudi players.--Tailikku (talk) 15:57, June 16, 2021 (EDT)
