Edit summaries when reverting[edit]

When reverting an edit, please use the edit summary to describe what was wrong with the edit to prevent edit warring. Thanks! SerpentKing 15:51, December 17, 2019 (EST)

Understood, I usually refrain from doing so to remove the edit as quickly as possible, but I'll stop that habit. RandomUltimate (talk) 15:53, December 17, 2019 (EST)
IP's edits aren't vandalism per se, but moreso ignorance on the proper word choices. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 15:54, December 17, 2019 (EST)

Smasher tags[edit]

Don't change a Smasher's tag on a tournament page after they change their tag. That's the tag they went at that tournament, and therefore that's the tag we put. The only time we don't is if they clearly changed their tag as a joke, such as Kola's PIKAPIZZA07. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 19:41, August 10, 2020 (EDT)

Their old tag was used in https://vegassmash.challonge.com/BZMOF, which was only 10 days ago. RandomUltimate (talk) 11:09, August 11, 2020 (EDT)

Links on type pages[edit]

What I mean by consistency for the links, I'm referring to within the page. If a user goes onto the pages and clicks the fighter links, it will be inconsistent on if they are taken to their general fighter page or a game specific fighter page. That is why I had all of them go to their general page. --CanvasK (talk) 17:18, August 17, 2020 (EDT)

I understand what you mean, but the way I edited it to be is also used on various other pages such as Electric and Flame. RandomUltimate (talk) 17:20, August 17, 2020 (EDT)
I meant to talk about that. Electric and Fire are effects not types. One is mainly visual, the other is mainly for stickers, spirits, etc. The reason why types are linked the way they are is because I went through all of them because the pages were either wrong or outdated. I wanted to get to effects but I lacked the data, time, and drive for it. For now I would like to keep the types consistent with themselves, effects will be dealt with later. --CanvasK (talk) 17:24, August 17, 2020 (EDT)

Regarding this edit[edit]

Banjo & Kazooie is currently a disambiguation page. Linking to Banjo & Kazooie separately makes more sense, since they're separate characters and aren't technically 100% promised to always be playable together. And finally, most (but not all, I'm going to get to work on this) pages that list generic fighter articles link them separately like that. So instead of possibly starting an edit war, I've come here to ask why you undid my separation of their links? Sincerely, Samuel the Banjo-Kazooie Boss. Picture that will go next to my signature, a duplicate of Banjo & Kazooie's stock icon. 15:30, October 18, 2020 (EDT)

SmashWiki:Manual of Style[edit]

Hi, I noticed you just made an edit to the URC page that just consisted of changing a word from its non-American spelling to its American spelling; this wiki does not have a preference for either form of spelling, and it is frowned upon to make edits that just consist of changing one form of spelling to the other, so avoid making such edits in the future.
