Larry Lurr, formerly known as DEHF (short for Does Everyone Hate Falco?), is a smasher from Reseda, California. He is one of the oldest players in competitive play, having began competing in 2007 and remains semi-active to this day. In addition, he is widely considered one of the best Smash players of all time, having been ranked in all major Smash titles aside from Smash 64.
Larry Lurr first gained recognition in Super Smash Bros. Melee playing Falco. Although not as well-known in Melee compared to other Smash games, Larry Lurr nevertheless finished top 16 at several majors during his Melee career and even defeated Mang0 several times, such as at UCLA V: Melee Strikes Back. However, his Melee performances were soon overshadowed by his performances in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where he was considered the best Falco player of all time and was notably the only Falco player who had won a major, doing so at Apex 2010. Likewise, he was considered one of the best SoCal players, often ranking in the #2 spot below Tyrant. Alongside Brawl, Larry Lurr also competed in Project M using both Falco and Fox, and was considered one of the best Falco and Fox players in Project M's first year, especially after placing 3rd at Apex 2014.
After Brawl, Larry Lurr gained further recognition in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, where he was not only considered the best Fox player of all time, but also one of the game's best players for many years, ultimately ranking 8th on the Panda Global Rankings 100. Although he never won a major, he came close several times and still regularly placed top 8 at majors. In addition, Larry Lurr is the seventh player to take a tournament set from ZeRo in Smash 4, the second player to take two sets off of him in grand finals after Nairo, and the third to eliminate him after Nairo and Ally.
Since then, Larry Lurr continues to compete in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate using Falco and Wolf. Although not as successful compared to Brawl and Smash 4, he remains one of the best Falco and Wolf players in the United States and was regularly ranked in the top 100 between 2019 and mid-2022.
