This forum has the purpose of helping to select what battles will eventually take place in the Smash Arena. If you would like to make a suggestion, please feel free to leave it here. New suggestions are placed at the bottom of the page. Be sure to state your reasons why you suggested it and put the support, reject, and comments sections underneath it.

Like the idea? Be sure to give it your support. Note that this page is not to be used for the actual voting between fighters; that happens in the Arena itself. Remember, the combatants don't necessarily have to be able to fight each other normally in Smash Bros.

Rules

  • The SA operator(s) has final say over all the fights. Suggestions and comments are merely a way for the community to influence the fights.
  • Sign your suggestions/votes/comments with ~~~~ and a # in front of it (you don't necessarily have to put # in the comments sections, but you do have to sign with ~~~~).
  • Don't vote for your own suggestion. You automatically vote for it if you suggest it.
  • Do not post more than one suggestion at a time. Each user may post one suggestion per week.
  • Post why you support/oppose. Don't just say "Oh, this is a cool idea". Explain why you like/don't like the fight.
  • You can remove your own suggestion, but it still counts as your suggestion for that week.
  • Similarily to the above, you cannot edit a suggestion once people have started to vote on it. Editing the description is fine; just don't replace, add, or remove combatants.
  • Place new suggestions at the bottom of page. If you place them at the top, they may be lost.
  • Do not use this page to argue with other users over their reasons and opinions. You can civilly point out an inconsistency or mistake in their description, but if you say things like "That's stupid" that could potentially start an argument in the comments, you are breaching this rule.
  • The comments section is to be used for relevant comments.
  • Check this list to view the fights that have been done; currently no repeat fights are permitted.
  • Suggestions are purged every time a new Smash Arena round is posted. It is at this time they are either accepted and placed into the queue, or they are rejected. Not all suggestions are purged at once.
  • In the vein of the above, do not repost a suggestion of yours that has been removed, since it's either already lined up or been rejected. Reposting it after time has passed is generally a bad idea, since if it's already in the queue it's a waste of time, and if it was rejected the first time chances are it will remain that way. See the Queue section for an idea of how long it may take for your suggestion to show up.
  • Only Smash Bros.-related fights are permitted. Fights don't have to be between playable characters, but the combatants must have appeared in at least one Smash Bros. game.
  • Acceptance of fights is not based simply on votes. The votes are used to judge the community's opinion of the matchup; again it is solely the operator(s)'s decision on what the bouts are.
  • If there are already 10 open suggestions, you should probably reconsider adding a new one. If there are 15, is is highly recommended you do not. There is no limit to the number of open suggestions, but having too many clutters the page and makes it more difficult to keep track of.
  • And finally, do not make this page into the Smash Arena itself. This is for deciding what goes there, not voting on which would win.

Queue

The current queue is as such:

67 68 69 70 71 72 73 74 75 76 77 78 79 80 81

Hover the cursor over a round number to see its predicted start date.

When the queue gets too long, suggestions will be suspended. You may continue to vote on current suggestions, but no more may be proposed. Once the queue drains out suggestions will be re-opened.

The queue is not set in stone; new suggestions may appear before older ones and it may change at any time. The queue is designed to attempt to balance out fights so that participants aren't used too much in a short time, as well as

The contents of the queue are a secret to maintain mystery and intrigue.

King Dedede vs. Snake

2 Super Heavyweights with pretty good tourney experience, hard KOing up tilts, strong power, fast falling speed, and amazing momentum cancel. Which super heavyweight will win? Doc King (talk) 21:32, 23 December 2010 (EST)

  1. I actually like this. Both have roughly the same weight and have the most powerful side smashes in the game, as well as really good recoveries and projectiles. Mr. Anon (talk) 16:08, 30 December 2010 (EST)
  2. far more interesting than many other suggestions ive seen, out of the box is boring, items, stages, how does anybody find these interesting, this is an obvious matchup that should have appeared in the smash arena a long time ago like many others that have yet to appearGig (talk) 17:41, 1 January 2011 (EST)

seriously how do people consider ANY stage battle worth putting in the smash arena, its booooring, you know what makes good matches,"fighter vs fighter" example "meta knight vs squirtle" doesnt matter who is up against who,as long as theyre playable then people are bound to have an opinion,"boss vs boss" example "giga bowser(melee) vs tabuu(brawl) wether we love or hate fighting them weve fought them, great behemoths of power, some we look at with awe others we brush off and just want to keep on moving, regardless as long as its a battle of the titans you know people are gonna have favorites,"generic enemy vs generic enemy" example "koopa troopa vs primid" the subspace emmisary, full of vast minions to go through, some we like some we think look stupid, some we enjoy beating up,some we hate because they beat us up,regardless, they are vast and im sure we all have our personal favorites,"pokeball pokemon vs pokeball pokemon" example "blastoise vs onix(smash 64)" pokeballs,an item that has apeared in all three games, summoning vast numbers of pokemon to assist us,some weilding deadly attacks that completely obliterate you others doing nothing at all,we all have our favorites, these make interesting matches, but how is a stage interesting at all,ITS A STAGE,it does nothing, its simply a place to fight on,how are generic items interesting,a tool battle, how boring and lifeless can you get,and the other out of the box matchups like hammer bro vs ice climbers,i mean seriously,HOW IS THAT INTERESTING,its stupid, you cant properly compare characters who fall into completely different category types,i mean a generic enemy vs a playable fighter,really....a good match is a match that involves living beings that can actually fight, creatures that are of the same class and level so they can be compared properly, something thats alive and interesting, stages and items and other unorthodox matches should be saved for when there are no more regular good matches left anymoreGig (talk) 17:41, 1 January 2011 (EST)

Random WoT ruins everything, especially when spacing and stuff are just completely incorrect.MegaTron1XD:p 17:43, 1 January 2011 (EST)
If you don't find anything other than characters interesting then that's your problem. Remember, this is a popularity contest, so limiting the bouts to those that can actually happen takes out a good chunk of possibilities. Also, we have to have less-good matches every now and then - if you use all the good stuff first, you then don't have anything good left, so it dies. Toomai Glittershine ??? Yoshi vs. Luigi

These green clads have gone for adventure with Mario several times. Yoshi have take care of Mario since small and save some babies from the evil clutches from Kamek. Luigi, Mario's little brother, is better in a lot of aspect then Mario even though he's a coward. who will win? the green dino or the green mustachio? Critical Hit vs Great Aether

The two swordsmen from Fire Emblem are battling with their most powerful moves! One attack does a dash across the stage for an effectiv KO, and the other racks up serious damage before bringing opponents down for a defeat. Which Final Smash packs a bigger punch? 1. Ike contains a similiar move to Critical Hit and as Critical Hit is generally a OHKO, this will be one sided.MegaTron1XD:p 20:41, 29 December 2010 (EST)
  2. I'm not opposing this for it being "one sided", as these are not literal fights or direct comparisons of effectiveness. I am mainly opposing as this matchup isn't that interesting and rather generic. The two final smashes don't have notable similarities, differences, or any other connections between the two for this matchup to be appealing. The only thing I see going for this matchup is that they're the final smashes for the Fire Emblem characters, which really doesn't raise the appeal factor for me. All in all, a generic matchup where both final smashes have more interesting opponents to be paired with. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 02:52, 30 December 2010 (EST)

A more even match to test which final smash will win that is by a swordsman and has multiple hits would be a battle between Triforce Slash and Great Aether--Shaun's Wiji Dodo talk Untitled-1 copy.gif 20:53, 29 December 2010 (EST)

you mean -effective-? you should have put the name of the swordsmen too you know Lucasthefourth (talk) 20:54, 29 December 2010 (EST)

Actually i mean both, as said by Megatron, this battle will be one sided, due to the absolute epicness of Critical hit (no seriously the speed and power of a OHKO beats Ike's damage racking final smash) also i feel no need to place the names of Link/Toon Link and Marth, most users of this wiki will instantly know who uses these final smashes, the only reason that i could think of why i would put a name down is to tell readers which link i am referring to, but since both final smashes are basically the same apart from range, sound, graphics and knockback i don't think i will--Shaun's Wiji Dodo talk Untitled-1 copy.gif 21:17, 29 December 2010 (EST)

I knew someone was going to say something about "one-sided".*frowns* BrawlingbrianFalcoHead.png LANDMASTER! 21:33, 29 December 2010 (EST)

Giga Bowser vs Wario Man

Two transformational final smashes that don't really change the character into something else, but actually enhance their moveset. Both are invincible. Both can do the undead glitch. Sadly, due to smash ball mechanics, they can never actually brawl against each other, so they will have to take this down in the Smash Arena. Mr. Anon (talk) 01:02, 30 December 2010 (EST)

Your description isn't completely correct. Both Giga Bowser and Wario-man can still take damage and hitstun, and their only invincibility is infinite knockback resistance. BrawlingbrianFalcoHead.png LANDMASTER! 09:28, 30 December 2010 (EST)

Wario Man doesn't take damage from hitboxes, nor does he suffer hitstun. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 09:41, 30 December 2010 (EST)
