Adventure Mode is a single player mode in SSBM. You can choose what character you want, the stock number, and difficulty. Adventure Mode is made up of different stages, each of them you need to complete to progress on. Most of the time the stages are the same, but sometimes the stages can have different scenarios depending on what actions you do.

Stage 1: Mushroom Kingdom

Part 1: Reach the Finishing Point

The goal is simple: reaching the finishing point in 7 minutes. Getting to the finishing point will not be easy. On your way you will encounter Goombas, Koopas, and Paratroopas on the way. You can use items that appear to fight them off or use your attacks. Half way through the stage, you will come across breakable bricks over a body of water. There will also be Paratroopas flying over the body of water. The bricks will break when you fight on them.

You will come to a platform with a Yoshi Egg symbol on it. You will have to fight a team made up of 10 Yoshi's. In order to progress, you must defeat all of the Yoshi's. The Yoshi's are lighter than usual. You should be able to fight the Yoshi's off quickly depending on what difficultly you are using. After you beat the Yoshi's, you will encounter a few more Goombas and Koopas. Finally, you will see the finishing point with Toad running back and forth. Simply go to the marked area to complete part 1 of this stage. Make sure you collect any trophies on your way,

Part 2: Team Mario and Peach Battle

This is the second part of the stage. You must battle Mario and Peach on Princess Peach's Castle. The battle is like any regular battle. Use your attacks and items to defeat both of them. Peach and Mario have a habit to run to the opposite side of the castle when Bullet Bill approaches the castle. They will not attack you until Bullet Bill explodes. Use this as an advantage and attack them. Defeating both of them will allow you to move on to the next match.

Part 2½: Team Luigi and Peach Battle

Beating Adventure mode with a 2 in the seconds place (##:#2:##) will make you fight Luigi instead of Mario. Luigi fights similarly, though his misuse of the Green Missile can be used to your advantage, as it limits him vertical recovery.

Stage 2: Kongo Jungle

Part 1: Tiny Donkey Kong Team Battle

You must defeat two tiny Donkey Kong's in Kongo Jungle. Tiny characters are light and are easier to kill on low percentages. They are also small so they are hard to attack sometimes. Nothing is new about this battle. Use your attacks and items that appear to defeat them and move onto part two.

Part 2: Giant Donkey Kong Battle

Part two pits you against Giant Donkey Kong on Jungle Japes. Remember, giant character's weigh more and are harder to kill, but they are bigger targets. Giant Donkey Kong is not the brightest comnputer player either. Sometimes when he tries to attack you he kills himself! It shouldn't be hard to kill him if you keep attack and damaging him. Sometimes DK gets killed when he hangs where the klaptraps jump at. Beating this match will let you proceed to the next stage.

Stage 3: Underground Maze

Part 1: Reach the Finishing Point

This part is similar to Part 1 of the Mushroom Kingdom stage. You have 7 minutes to reach the finishing point. But this time getting to the finishing point will be much harder. Instead of the finishing point being straight forward; the finishing point is at a random location. The finishing point is actually the triforce that you must reach. The triforce is located in a random area out of 6 areas total. The other five areas contain the Master Sword. If you come across a master sword, then you must battle Link. The only way to progress on is to fight Link so don't waste all your time battling him. You can actually jump over the master sword area. As long as you don't land on the lighter floor or the floating platforms, then the battle with Link will not be triggered.

The Underground Maze is infested with ReDeads, Octoroks, and Like Likes. These enemies can cause heavy damage, especially the ReDeads. Don't waste your time with battling these enemies since you need the time to locate the triforce. The Underground Maze is large and its hard to get lost. Try navigating around the maze to find the triforce. There is one area that has lava. Do not touch the lava since touching it is similar to touching the acid in the Brinstar stage. Try checking the bottom floors to see if you locate the triforce then work your way up. Make sure you gather trophies on the way.

Part 2: Zelda/Sheik Battle

In part two you battle against Zelda/Sheik in the Temple stage. Temple is a rather big stage so killing Zelda won't be so easy. Don't battle on the bottom part of the stage since it is hard to get a Star KO. Use items and attacks to defeat Zelda to move on to the next stage.

Stage 4: Brinstar

Part 1: Samus Battle

Treat this battle like any other kind of battle. You are battling Samus on the Brinstar stage. Use your attacks and items to defeat her. Becareful of the acid since it will do damage to you. One thing Samus likes to do is hang-out on the highest platform on the stage when the acid is not even close to the middle two. Use this as an advantage to attack her.

Part 2: Warning Alert

The goal of part 2 has you reaching the goal point in 40 seconds. Just keep jumping and don't stop. Use your triple jump if you need to. Once you get to the top, jump on the platform in the middle. Not making to the goal in 40 seconds will have you losing a stock. Characters with good jumps will have an easy time here. There will be trophies that you can collect on your way up, but only collect them if you think you have enough time.

Stage 5: Green Greens

Part 1: Team Kirby Battle

You are battling against various Kirby's who posses different character abilities. The battle takes place on Green Greens and you have 4 minutes to complete it.. The Kirby's different abilities are chosen at random. Since there is a team of Kirby's they are generally lighter. Just like the Yoshi team you battled earlier, defeating the team Kirby team depends on the difficulty. On easier difficulties, the Kirby's are lighter. Since the Kirby's act like other Characters, they will have that characters B button move. Items and powerful attacks should finish them off.

Part 2 (optional): Giant Kirby Battle

If you defeated the Kirby team in fewer than 30 seconds, you'll have to fight a giant Kirby. He's not very smart, so just try to lure him into using his Stone attack over the blocks.

Stage 6: Corneria

Part 1: Fox Battle

You are half-way through Adventure Mode now. You have 4 minutes to defeat Fox on Corneria. Nothing special about Fox. He is a little tougher than other characters that you faced earlier. But once again treat Fox like any other battle. Fox is a light character so give him enough damage with your attacks and items. Once he has about 100% damage, use a nice solid smash attack to kill him.

Part 2: Fox Reborn Battle

You battle Fox once again. This time the stage is much different. Fox's crew will be fly in and out and start shooting like crazy all over the stage. Dodging the arwing lasers will be no easy task. But Fox can be damaged by the lasers too. Killing Fox will be the same as last time. Since the lasers will damage him, it won' be so hard. The only thing you need to not worry about is getting killed by the lasers.

Part 2½: Falco Battle

If you have unlocked Falco, you will sometimes fight him, instead. He isn't much different than Fox, so use the same methods.

Stage 7: Pokémon Stadium

Part 1: Pokémon Battle

You face a team full of Pokémon in this battle. There will be 10 Pikachu's/Jigglypuff's that you will fight. The only item that will appear on the stage are Poké Balls. Use the Poké Ball you help you defeat your opponents fast. A good Pokémon like a legendary can kill your opponent fast. Watch out though, Jigglypuff/Pikachu will use Poké Ball too. Try not to get caught in the Pokémon they summon. Once you defeat all 10 Pokémon then you can move on to the next stage.

Stage 8: F-Zero Grand Prix

Part 1: Race to the Finish

Your goal for Part 1 is to reach the finish line in 4 minute. While you progress towards the finish line, race cars will be coming driving over the track that you are running on. When you see an Exclaimation Point (!) on your screen, that means the cars are arriving. To avoid getting hit jump on the platforms floating above the track. The cars cannot damage you while you are on the platform. If a car hits you, you will take 30%+ damage. Your character could probably survive the first blow, but he/she will probably die on the second blow. When you are getting towards the end of the stage, you will have to jump over a couple of gaps on the race tracks. If you fall below the gaps then you will lose 1 stock. To avoid getting hit while near the gap, you can simply hang on the edge since the cars won't reach you there either. Reach the finish line to progress to part 2 of this stage. There are also trophies on this stage.

Part 2: Captain Falcon Battle

You have 4 minutes to defeat Captain Falcon on [[Mute City]. This battle is no different from the individual character battles that you fought earlier. One stupid thing that Captain Falcon will always do is fall onto the track while the platform you are on is moving. He will take a lot of damage when he does this. Use this to your advantage to finish him off easily. Once you defeat him then you can move onto Stage 9.

Stage 9: Onett

Part 1: Team Ness Battle

Your goal is to beat 3 Ness's in 4 minutes. The only item that will appear on the stage is Mr Saturn. The Ness's will grab the Mr. Staturn's and lug them at you. This will start to cause a problem. It's also going to be hard to damage the Ness's also. Try to lure the Ness's to the bottom of the stage where the cars drive back and forth. The computer players are dumb enough to run into the cars when they are coming. Just don't get hit yourself. Pick up the Mr. Saturn's to also damage the Ness's. Ness is not that light so once his percentage is high, deliver a smash attack on him.

Stage 10: Icicle Mountain

Part 1: Reach the Top + Team Ice Climber Battle

Icicle Mountain has you racing to the top of the stage. This stage is similar to the Icicle Mountain stage, the difference the movement is not random and the speed is not random either. The stage also has a lot of Topis and Polar Bears on it also. The stage starts off by going up at a slow pace. While you are traveling up you will encounter Topis and Polar Bears. If you make contact with one, you will recieve damage. There will also be trophies as the stage progresses. The pace of the stage will start to increase. When the stage gets really fast, you should avoid fighting all enemies and stop collecting items and trophies.

Once the stage stops moving fast and all enemies dissapear, that is how you know the battle with the Ice Climbers will begin. You will have to fight two pair of Ice Climbers. This battle won't be so hard. Half the time the Ice Climbers will kill themselves by not be able to recover while the stage is moving up. Also there are times when they jump too high and die at the top of the stage. Beat both of the Ice Climbers to progress to the next stage.

Stage 11: Battlefield

Part 1: Multi-Man Wire-Frame Melee

In the first part of this stage, you must destroy many Wire Frame fighters.

Part 2: Metal Bros. fight

In the second part, you must battle both Metal Mario and Metal Luigi; however, if you have not unlocked Luigi yet, only Metal Mario will battle you, and that makes the stage easier.

Stage 12: Final Destination

Once here, you'll have to fight regular Bowser. After winning the match, if the conditions have been met, Bowser will challenge you to a rematch as Giga Bowser, who takes up nearly half of the stage. Don't get in his face, and steer clear of his attacks. However, if you didn't unlock Giga Bowser, then Adventure mode will come to a close, and you'll earn a trophy.
