Sandbox

I just want to say that your sandbox is awesome and you should add bosses, enemies, and other characters with pages on this wikia onto your Major characters and their first appearance in SSB page. Also, will you consider doing something similar to that with their debut appearances?

Thanks. I was inspired to make the sandbox after I was thinking of this little idea for a Smash game where one of the main ways to unlock characters is through means that depend on their original status (Such as defeating an Assist Trophy, seeing a character in a stage, collect a character's trophy, etc.). Anyway, I might add bosses when I feel like it, but I'm not sure about enemies and other semi-major characters like moveset/stage-exclusive characters. Ideas for your sandbox

You can add villainous Poké ball Pokémon like Darkrai, Wobbuffet, and Meowth (but note enemies and bosses since they’re all villains) and you can add every game where these characters were villains. 174.55.24.64 12:36, July 8, 2019 (EDT)

I'm gonna pass on both of those. There are SO MANY adaptations of the Pokémon franchise that put certain Pokémon in an antagonist role that I don't think it's really worth the trouble to list them all. I only included Greninja and Incineroar as villains because they have been paired up with the villains before in certain moments, plus they're playable fighters, meaning they get priority. List of minor universes also has a "most recent game" slot, so actually IP is right. Fire Emblem: Three Houses was on the list even though no playable characters from Smash were in it, because it meant Fire Emblem had to be updated.

Seriously, Wario's an anti-hero, NOT a villain...

Nevermind the penultimate co-op event in Brawl and of course the Subspace Emissary Adventure Mode, just because Wario was a villain for at least ONE game, like his debut (Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins), doesn't mean he's been an antagonist in a lot of other media since. So Wario is an ANTI-HERO, NOT a villain. It's like calling Donkey Kong a villain and NOT a hero... cause he's only really been a villain for been the Mario vs. Donkey Kong spinoff series, and the original 1981 Donkey Kong no less (not to mention it's like calling Mario a villain, when his only villainous role was his second game Donkey Kong Jr.). Are you referring to my "Miscellaneous stuff" sandbox (Which only has the "Villain Ensemble" section as of writing this)? If so...I didn't really intend it to be all that serious. It's just a thing I did more for fun. I mean, I included Greninja on the list just because of its Dark-typing, for god's sake.
Also, Wario was a full-fledged villain in more than just his debut. He was the main antagonist in Mario & Wario and Wario's Woods, and he and Waluigi even teamed up with Bowser in Mario Tennis: Power Tour. Hell, he was even the main antagonist in the final stage of WarioWare Gold. Just because he's not really a villain these days, that still doesn't remove the reputation he had as a recurring Mario villain. This Wiki uses the term "antagonist" because it's a nice collective term to use for both the villains and anti-heroes. (Although there's still something I like to call the "Mewtwo problem", who wasn't even an antagonist in the Pokémon games)
And even if we're still gonna argue about whether Wario is a "villain", I didn't explicitly say that all the characters in the list were "villains". The very first sentence even says "has a theme of "villains" or "antagonists"", so it's atleast pointing out that not all the characters in the list are full-fledged villains. One of the rules also states that any fighter who played an antagonist role (no matter if they're major or minor ones; if their role is temporary or recurring; or if they're mere anti-heroes or full-fledged villains) is qualified as long as they're not universally considered heroes like Donkey Kong (specifically the one that debuted in the Donkey Kong Country series) or especially Mario.
The only reason I gave the Pokémon fighters a pass is because, unlike most of the cast, they don't really have a moral alignment, so there's really not a problem with placing them on either side. I specifically chose Greninja and Incineroar because I thought they'd fit well with the villains for one reason or another (Both are Dark-type (which is called "Evil-type" in Japan), and Greninja was used by one of the main antagonists in the Diancie movie while Incineroar is outright based on a villain archetype) and because I thought only having one Pokémon on the villain's side would be very boring, not to mention that Smash has grouped them with the villains exactly once each before. Mewtwo still ended up on the list though because, let's be honest, its role in The First Movie is too hard to ignore.
I will admit that calling it "Villain Ensemble" wasn't really the best name for it, but I thought it rolled off the tongue a lot better than "Antagonist Ensemble".

The draft is on hiatus at the moment. I don't plan to include the Kingdom Hearts OCs or any of the characters from the expanded Mickey Mouse universe anytime soon.

Undone Edit

Hi! I just made an edit for Mr. Game and Watch's SSBU page, but you undid it. To explain why you did this, you gave me a link. However, the page apparently does not exist. I trust your judgement, but i'd still like to know why we cannot name the moves based on their origin game. Is it because some moves share a home game? Hey man, no personal attacks. Also, SST's edit, aside from the typo, was correct. There are several Pokéball Pokémon that aren't spirits, so the trivia is just uninteresting; trivia is supposed to say something unique about an article or those like it, but it's not unique when 18 other Pokémon share the trait. There’s no more DK spirits on your sandbox anymore. The Shy Guys in the Super Happy Tree and Yoshi's Story stages in 64 and Melee are Fly Guys. Regular Shy Guys debuted in the series in Brawl, and their most gameplay-important role is in the Figure-8 Circuit stage. SuperSmashTurtles (talk) 17:51, September 2, 2019 (EDT)

I'll admit that was a flub on my part. I was expecting the showcase video to use the splash screen when I was given that explanation, but it turns out it's in small letters in the thumbnail. Although if we're gonna do it like that, shouldn't we change Hero's tagline to "A Hero Draws Near!"? I'm surprised Solid Snake made it to Smash before Raiden.
