Karisuma 9 was a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U regional tournament held in Nagoya, Japan on September 17th, 2016.
Unlike other tournaments in the series, Karisuma 9 was a double-elimination, Waseda-style 2v2 tournament. In each match, teams played two 1v1 games. If the same team won both games, they won the match; if each team won one game, then the winners of the two games faced off to decide the match.
Karisuma 9 also featured a standard doubles side event.
