Some rules for my talk page:

  • The obvious stuff:
    • When making a new thread, please click "new section" at the top (next to "edit this page") and give the thread a subject. Alternatively, you can click "edit this page" anyway and use four equals signs (====) to name your subject, with the subject name between the second and third equal signs (==Like this==). Just be sure to write everything under the latest discussion topic.
    • Please indent your comments with a colon (:) when making a reply. The more replies you make to a single thread post, the more colons you should indent with: The first reply should have one, the second one should have two, the third should three, and so on.
    • Please sign your comments with four tildes ~~~~.
    • After leaving a message, please check back to my talk page to see if I have responded to you. If I have made a thread on your or another user's talk page, please post your reply there instead of making a new thread about the same topic here.
    • No personal attacks. Doesn't matter if it's directed towards me or another person, please write your message to be as neutral as possible.
    • Please do not use my talk page as a means to chat to me about off-wiki business.
  • Some things to keep in mind about me:
    • If new info that relates to my sandboxes comes out, you don't have to remind me, as it's very much likely I already know about it and the lack of updates on my sandbox(es) is very likely because I don't have the time to update my sandbox(es).
    • I have no interest in the competitive side of the Super Smash Bros. series, so any discussions related to it (Smasher pages, tournaments, tier lists, etc.) will not lead to anywhere.

April Fools edits

I have an April Fools submission I'd like to send for the "Dependent Universes" section of List of minor third-party universes. This will continue off a gag I did the previous year which was a joke about non-game franchises. I may add more to this once the day comes (if I even remember to add it), but here's a mock-up - it would be added alongside the existing dependent universes in alphabetical order.
  • Sam and Friends is an early puppetry television show that aired locally in the Washington DC area between 1955 and 1961. Kermit the Frog debuted in this program.
  • The Tracey Ullman Show is a variety sketch show aired on Fox between 1987 and 1990. The Simpson family made their debut in the animated segments of this series.
  • Love, American Style is an anthology comedy series that aired between 1969 and 1974. The Fonz debuted in Love and the Television Set, a segment that aired on an episode of this program.
  • Wallace & Gromit is an English claymation film series created by Nick Park. Shaun the Sheep made his debut in the third short film of the series, A Close Shave.
  • The Intertidal Zone is an unreleased educational comic book illustrated by Stephen Hillenburg in 1984. It was the main inspiration for SpongeBob SquarePants and featured a character named Bob the Sponge, who would later evolve into SpongeBob.
  • Linus the Lionhearted is an animated television series aired between 1964 and 1965 that was intended to sell cereal. Sugar Bear debuted in this series
  • ITV Digital was a UK television provider between 1998 and 2002. Munkeh was originally created as a mascot for this service, but upon its closure was transfered over to PG Tips, which he represents in Smash.

Think you got the wrong person. AFD submissions go to Administrators, which SuperSmashTurtles is not. --CanvasK (talk) 00:51, March 24, 2021 (EDT)
Sorry about that, I'll redirect my request now.--What could possibly go wrong? - BubzieBobkat (talk) 02:40, March 24, 2021 (EDT)

April Fool's Conflict

I noticed you want to prank the K. Rool page, but I would also have at least one image I'd like to add onto the page.

Would you be willing to compromise and allow it while not withdrawing your prank at all or should I just take it somewhere else?

TotallyNotAutomated (talk) 21:00, March 31, 2021 (EDT)

That depends on what the image(s) in question is/are, as I plan to replace the origin artworks and spirits of K. Rool with artwork and screenshots of DiC Bowser and his alter-egos. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 21:04, March 31, 2021 (EDT)
All I want to do is add a gif of the cartoon K. Rool dancing wildly to the gallery on the bottom, which is why I believe our contributions can coexist. TotallyNotAutomated (talk) 21:08, March 31, 2021 (EDT)
I suppose, but he still must be acknowledged as "King Koopa" to fit with the prank. Perhaps the description could be something like "This design is the inspiration for King Koopa's appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series". SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 21:18, March 31, 2021 (EDT)
Well, I have two images. The second one, the one I wasn't planning on using, can serve that suggested purpose. The other, the dancing image, also has Simon in it and I was planning on doing something like "A K. Rool player taunts a Simon player" or something like that. Again, if it conflicts too heavily with your prank, I can move the dancing image to the Simon page instead or something to that effect. TotallyNotAutomated (talk) 21:58, March 31, 2021 (EDT)

Can I ask you some stuff?

Hello, I'm not quite often to edit stuff on this site. I want to make sandboxes like you did, can you tell me how? Also how do you insert pictures to this site? Is there a limit to how many pictures I can add?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out.

Edit 2: Hello, sorry to bother again I'm the guy who wrote the spirit battle stages page and I'm kind of disinterested in it. I tried to delete it using instructions from the deletion policy page but it doesn't seem to work? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emerald Opera (talkcontribs) 10:03, April 30, 2021 (EDT)

Only admins are able to delete pages. For non-admin users, if there's a page you want deleted immediately, all you have to do is use a "speedy delete" tag (just type in {{d|*insert reasoning here*}}; it's generally preferable to put this tag at the very top of the page) and wait for an admin to delete it.
There's also a standard "delete" tag (same code as the "speedy delete" tag, but replace "d" with "delete"), but that should only be used for pages that likely require a discussion before they can be deleted. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 06:31, May 1, 2021 (EDT)
It's been 3 days, how long does it take for admins to delete pages anyway?
At this point, it pretty much depends on if the admins feels like deleting all of the unneeded junk.
Also, please remember to sign your comments by ending them with 4 tildes (~). It's also recommended to indent your replies with a colon (:). SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 18:45, May 2, 2021 (EDT)
You know what I think I'm going to continue the page. One big edit at the time, is that ok? By the way, your statistics page is what inspired me to do this.Emerald Opera (talk) 02:39, May 6, 2021 (EDT)
Ah, thanks for your kind words.
Anyway, for my Spirits Statistics page, I tended to only do one series at a time (for example, I would do all the Zelda series spirits in one edit, then the Metroid spirits in another).
Sometimes, I would have to split one series into two separate edits if their spirit battle quantity was simply too large for me to handle in one edit (for example, I split the edits of the Pokémon spirits between the first four generations for the first edit and the remaining generations for the second).
Other times, I would do two (sometimes three) series if one series has a small enough quantity of spirit battles (for example, I did all of the Wii Fit, Punch-Out!!, and Pac-Man spirits in one edit).
So my advice for your sandbox is to only do one series at a time in one edit if you think it's simply too large to do another series in the same edit, but at the same time try to finish as many series as you can if you think you can include them all in one edit. Hope my advice helps. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 06:21, May 6, 2021 (EDT)
Thanks for the advices, you're free to edit that page too if you spot any mistake like wrong ordering of stages or spirits.Emerald Opera (talk) 06:47, May 6, 2021 (EDT)

Hello, it's me again. I want to ask what are the chance to get probation nowadays because if you have seen recently on my contribution page, I mostly do stuff on my userspace for the last couple of days and just recently I uploaded several images. Since you can only do one at the time, each upload counts as seperated edits and I fear these "rapid fire" edits might effect me somehow.Emerald Opera (talk) 20:24, May 7, 2021 (EDT)

I can't really say anything about the chances of getting probation these days, so I can't help you there.
As for what to do, the only option I can think of is to just take a break from your userspace for a good while and focus mainly on the mainspace from then on out. If you still want to finish your userspace, I'd recommend you only update it every once in a while (like, say, one editing spree every one or two week weeks, or even once a month if you're really worried about receiving probation).
Hope my advice was helpful. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 20:44, May 7, 2021 (EDT)

What happens to that name 174.55.24.64 23:15, June 18, 2021 (EDT)

I got my username changed cuz I wanted a name that expressed me better, and "The Jacketed Terrapin" seemed unique enough of a name. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 06:38, June 19, 2021 (EDT)

This

Extremely late, but Robin's was very subtly changed in Smash 4: the slow-mo effects on the Levin Sword were bettered. Conveniently, the edit history for male Robin's version of this victory pose provides a great comparison. Aidan, the Ace Rurouni 13:55, June 21, 2021 (EDT)

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I was wondering why the trivia was claiming Robin had a change when neither page that would document the change even mentions it at all. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 14:28, June 21, 2021 (EDT)
I mean, there are (aside from Steve's trivia) two other pages that mention it. Aidan, the Nonbinary Rurouni 14:40, June 21, 2021 (EDT)
Not gonna lie, I wasn't even thinking of checking the update history to look for evidence. I just thought the trivia sections of the pages I mentioned in that summary would cover the change. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 14:58, June 21, 2021 (EDT)

I need help

On your draft, I decided to add Genshin Impact, The text formatting was in a different font and I can't seem to remove it. AgedofallStrings (talk) 00:55, June 22, 2021 (EDT)

Not them but the formatting was caused by the spaces at the very start of the line. When the spaces are there, the wiki interpreter treats it like using <pre></pre> tags. Don't know why it does that, but that is something to keep in mind. --CanvasK (talk) 06:52, June 22, 2021 (EDT)

Digimon

I think Digimon is a third-party franchise that could use some representation. Could you add it to the list? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.54.195.214 (talkcontribs) 22:50, July 20, 2021 (EDT)

Hey, sorry about the very late reply. I don't know why I took so long to respond to this.
Anyway, my main drawback from adding Digimon to the list is whether the virtual pets (which is where the series got its start) should count or not, since there not considered to be part of the Digimon video game line-up (which started with Digital Monster Ver. S on the Sega Saturn in 1998). JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 11:26, July 22, 2021 (EDT)
ROB didn't originate as a video game character, and he still made it in.
Here's the thing, though: R.O.B., while not appearing in-game, was very clearly marketed as a peripheral intended to be used for two video games on the NES and nothing else. From my understanding, Digital Monster (and its older sibling, Tamagotchi) was marketed less as a video game and more as your standard "toy" than anything (it did come from Bandai, one of the most famous toy companies in the world). Musings

Is there a place on this wiki on which we can put our musings? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.36.25.163 (talkcontribs) 20:48, September 7, 2021 (EDT)

Nefarious Neer Do Wells

Just like Black Shadow and Calamity Ganon, where they do not appear on this event spirit board. 136.158.41.220 02:11, September 9, 2021 (EDT)136.158.41.220

It's practically guaranteed that not every spirit that would qualify for a spirit event is going to be featured in said event.
The reason I reverted your edit is because there are plenty of spirits that debuted in games released for the GameCube, yet do not show up on that spirit event, and the amount I listed on that edit summary would just make the trivia not noteworthy. There was also no reason to prioritize Aryll and Dragoon specifically. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 02:23, September 9, 2021 (EDT)

The same thing happened in Cool Blue Summer where Jeff, Megaman.EXE, Tabuu, and Azura did not appear in this event. 136.158.41.220 03:08, September 9, 2021 (EDT)123.158.41.220

Once again, not every spirit that qualifies for a spirit event is going to be featured in said event.
Also, talk pages are not for musings and such. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 03:15, September 9, 2021 (EDT)

Your removal of your ‘no slurs’ rule

I get why you might be concerned about it, but I honestly think it’s quite an important rule to have, especially since it’s also somewhat covered by SW:NPA. I also know that no admin on here would stand for any racial slurs, so you’d be quite safe, really. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Personal talk page "rules" are just pointless anyway; if it's something that's already covered by wiki policies and will be enforced by admins, it's needless to state so and it's just taking up space on your talk page. If it's something that is not against wiki policy, then the "rules" don't do anything and will just serve as a source of potential inflammation. If you ask me, that "rule" was rather pointless to begin with. Considering SW:NPA exists, it's obvious that slurs and the like are not allowed. I don't see why you believe it's important to have if it already overlaps with an existing wiki policy. For my signature. Omega Toad, the Toad Warrior. (I'm the best!) 21:28, September 10, 2021 (EDT)
