My edit of Chrom

After reverting my edit about Chrom, you later added and I quote: " Putting that there just seems way out of place. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Putting notes in brackets in the middle of sentences must be done with EXTREME care." Care to elaborate on this statement? You have never said this to me before and I have made sure. I'm sure this wasn't your intention but it does seem rather rude. I would be very grateful for a reply. Thank You. Ice Cream Melee (talk) 13:38, 3 October 2018 (EDT)

It doesn't mean it was said to you; he's probably said it before, in other contexts. That said, in regards to your edit, there was a segment put in parentheses that, grammatically, did not fit, which is why he undid the edit. Aidan, the Spooky Rurouni 14:16, 3 October 2018 (EDT)
It's not why he did undid the edit, it's what he said in the summary. That's what I'm annoyed about. Ice Cream Melee (talk) 15:05, 3 October 2018 (EDT)
Exactly what Aidan said; my words were said in general context and not targeting you specifically. I apologise if you thought otherwise. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:24, 3 October 2018 (EDT)
OK, makes a bit more sense now. Ice Cream Melee (talk) 11:35, 4 October 2018 (EDT)

Complex trivia

Why do you believe this line qualifies as complex trivia? "First playable Metroid" doesn't seem to be overly complicated to me. – Emmett 22:14, 3 October 2018 (EDT)

Because people not well versed in the Metroid series (myself included) would have to do some pretty intense digging to learn about why Dark Samus is what she is. Trivia needs to be quick and easy to understand, and while stuck on the fence about this, I do still feel moreso that it is not. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 22:17, 3 October 2018 (EDT)
I've literally never played a Metroid game in my life, but a note saying "Dark Samus marks the first time the Metroid series has a playable Metroid" seems to be pretty clear as to what it is. You don't really need to know DS' background to understand via that note that she is a Metroid, and is the first playable one. – Emmett 22:20, 3 October 2018 (EDT)
Fair enough. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 22:22, 3 October 2018 (EDT)

Your recent behavior

Hey, so I've been noticing a few alarming issues regarding how you deal with other users. Looking through your contributions, I am noticing mostly reversions and talk page posts. While there's nothing inherently wrong with that, I want to point you to the part I see fault in: the edit summaries and the language you use on the talk pages. You are far, far too blunt, to the point where you become intimidating to new users, possibly even scaring them away. This is damaging to our project and is in no way in our best interest.

Let's look at some examples

  1. Here you reverted C0liosi's signature replacement for no real reason, and directly afterwards he took out his whole comment and never showed up again. This might seem minor, but we always want new contributors, so kill them with kindness. When you are trying to enforce a rule, consider what damage could possibly be done if you don't act. If there's minimal or none, then don't.
  2. Here your edit summary is the issue. He just got done saying that he's a new user and he didn't fully understand how things work, but you responded with a snarky answer to his rhetorical question instead of politely explaining that the game doesn't change until release.
  3. You're still doing this. I pointed this out to you back when I (would have) opposed your RfA. Quit using language best left for the staff..."Hold it right there" is not appropriate language for user to user conversation...it's not even something I would want admins to ever say, really. Watch your phrasing.
  4. There are several edit summaries where you were unnecessarily sarcastic or brash. Again watch your phrasing.
  5. This is entirely unacceptable. A few problems with it:
    1. Break in QDV (your comment in the beginning does not dismiss the violation)
    2. Qualifies as block talk
    3. The whole thing reads as if you are trying to validate or reenforce the block as an admin would
    4. Once again use of this whole "alright listen up" crap
    5. And finally (and mainly), the comment can only piss the user off even further. You called his grammar terrible without even giving any suggestions for improvement, and then went on with how this act which had nothing to do with you somehow upset you.

There are also several recent issues that have occured on discord with you at the center, but since every one of those have been addressed, I don't feel a need to repeat myself.

My ending statement is this: you need to improve the way you interact with other users, especially new ones. Before saving the edit, ask yourself: is what I've written polite and professional instead of rude? Is what I've written constructive instead of inflammatory? Are other users likely to respond well to being spoken to in this way? If the message is intended to be sharp, am I the right person to be writing it? Making sure that these questions are all answered appropriately will help you to improve your edits and communication on the wiki to be more constructive. There have already been several conversations with you regarding your behavior, so I will warn you that lack of improvement in this area will result in a short block. Thanks for your time reading this wall of text, and have a nice day. Serpent SKSig.png King 19:17, 4 October 2018 (EDT)

I should probably point out that this has been discussed at length with SK, and thus has been fully acknowledged. I say this just in case people think I ignored this. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 00:17, 6 October 2018 (EDT)

The comment on Talk:Vergeben Leaks

I honestly thought that what the IP post could've been considered spam, but I guess not. On a separate note, I believe that the IPs' posts don't contribute to the discussion and seem more like a personal attack, however at the same time it doesn't seem like it fits the rules of SW:NPA, so should I deal with it or should I just leave it be? SugarCookie420 (talk) 19:28, 22 October 2018 (EDT)

Comments on talk pages should be left alone, even if they are personal attacks. We're not MarioWiki, we don't remove vandal comments except under very special circumstances. Anyway, those comments, acidic as they are, technically don't break any rules, since they're not targeting anyone on the wiki in particular. Don't quote me on that last remark though - let the admins be the judge of that. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:30, 22 October 2018 (EDT)

Removal of that rumor

Look at you, why did you remove that banner rumor in the rumors page? It's widely the most discussed. Why did you remove it? I wish I can edit it back but the admins restricted editing for a time now. Michele 16:27, 24 October 2018 (EDT)

Not BV, but that page has been protected because of counter-productive edit-warring. If you think it should be in the article again, talk about it on its talk page. It's not going to be protected forever, just until Halloween. File:SonicSpeed48HalloweenSig.pngSonic, the Speedy SpookableSpookableScarerTigger.png 16:32, 24 October 2018 (EDT)
It's widely discussed? Because all I saw within those links was a whole lot of random garbage that only vaguely resembles a genuine leak discussion. The rest of it just looks like trolling. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 17:42, 24 October 2018 (EDT)
Many YouTubers, some who rarely discuss leaks, have talked about this, and people involved in the Smash community such as ZeRo and Alpharad have talked about it on Twitter, although most of this blew up a few hours ago. SugarCookie420 (talk) 18:51, 24 October 2018 (EDT)

Reversion of Dialga

Hi hi! I don't mean to intrude or anything, but there's been an ongoing discussion of switching to outside official art rather than in-game screenshots or renders at Forum:General proposals#Assist Trophy infobox art. This way, they're consistent across each other and with the character pages. All the Assist Trophies have already been swapped out, so the next step we were looking for was Pokémon; a few have already been swapped. That's why Dialga's art was switched out earlier. Would you prefer a bit more of a consensus before it goes any further? DryKirby64 (talk) 02:40, 28 October 2018 (EDT)

While there's no opposition to this as far as I can see, there also isn't much support. I would like to see a bit more support for that as it is. There's certainly no grounds to declare a consensus at this time, whether some pics have been swapped already or not. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Pokémon Art

The reson why I edited the Fighter Pokémon art descriptions is because the art being used is from Red and Blue. I double checked before editing it, and Pikachu was the only first gen that currently uses it.

Isn't it suppose to say what game the art comes from if it differs? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wolff (talkcontribs) 21:21, 30 October 2018 (EDT)

Sonic taking damage while swimming

Hi hi, here's the source for the that last edit to Sonic's page. From firsthand accounts, this apparently also happens to Charizard and the Inklings. DryKirby64 (talk) 17:01, 5 November 2018 (EST)

Alright, thanks for that. I’ll get right on that now if nobody else has yet. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 17:19, 5 November 2018 (EST)
