#I ''never'' use the Fan. Ever. Mostly because of how weak it is, but also because there are no Fan-related bonuses in Melee. #'''[[Ping|"KREEEEENG!"]]''' [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/MostWonderfulSound/VideoGame Most Wonderful Sound], indeed. Although I've gradually taken a liking to the Fan's [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LethalJokeItem?from=Main.LethalJokeWeapon Lethal Joke Weapon] properties, scoring a [[OHKO|one-hit knockout (OHKO)]] with the Home-Run Bat is one of the most satisfying videogame experiences ever.  A bit easier to do in multiplayer due to the sheer chaoticness arising during a match; pulling it off in single-player is ''amazing''. A shame that it's very predictable, but the predictability of it makes actually pulling off a "home run" feel even greater! And finally, Ness packs a pseudo-Home Run Bat as a smash attack, to boot! Winner!!

19.5 to 10
Ganondorf SSBB.jpg
It's about dang time the unbreakable spirit and the King of Evil got together for a tussle in the Smash Arena. Will raw power or unfettered courage take this one?

Votes for Link

  1. Easier to draw. AccoolX File:Accoolx.png 09:52, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  2. Link is my favorite character in all of the SSB games. Nuff said. ZeldasmashFile:ZeldaSymbol.pngTalk 10:58, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  3. 204.191.139.195 12:02, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  4. Can't play Ganondorf because the game freezes when I challenge him, so I can't vote for him. Nontheless, i still like playing Link.KirbyHeadSSBM.pngKing KirbyD (talk) 12:18, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  5. My first main and first character in all the Smash series. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 12:43, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  6. Link always wins against Ganondorf in any The Legend of Zelda game. ..... The Autistic Ninten's sprite from Mother/EarthBound Zero, formerly used in Dots's signature. 13:25, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  7. In SSBB Link is easier to control than Ganondorf and also I don't like evil.User talk:Smashtito 14:10, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  8. Better on Tiers, kick ass in every zelda game. Main Character in the zelda series. Was before Ganondorf in the series? Link has superiority to Ganondorf. LightningBlue: Music is Power 15:41, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  9. Good will always triumph over evil.Yoshirocks341 YoshiHeadSSBB.png 17:30, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  10. Let's put it simply. The first games I remember getting are Pokemon Firered and TWILIGHT PRINCESS. You know, the game where Ganondorf looks worse than in Ocarina of Time (which I have nothing against, it's just, TP Ganondorf still scares me) Link, on the other hand, is pure amazing. I know how this got up here, but really, it's just no contest. Not exactly simply in the end, but, eh, I did it to make my point.174.20.228.189 22:50, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  11. I like playing as Ganondorf, but I still prefer Link. 110.174.90.69 22:58, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
  12. Even if Link is subpar in Brawl. Ganondorf is worse. (Oh, and Link kicks ass. NUFF SAID) 75.163.139.108 02:23, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
  13. Linky Hink or Ganondork Éh? I never played Legend of Zelda but link has a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better final smash. Ganons is easy 2 dodge like REALLY easy. stay away and barrel roll! done!99.235.62.184 14:10, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
  14. The good guy always wins ShupaRoeh (talk) 15:23, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
  15. Link pwnes. Smash Master 21:41, 25 March 2012 (EDT)

  17. Captain Falcon has nearly all of Ganandorf's moves only faster, leaving no point as to playing Ganondorf. Hero of Time FTW.71.48.123.111 18:47, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
  18. Although Link has never really been my favorite fighter to use in any of the Smash games, I still easily prefer him over Ganondorf. 140.182.165.132 12:27, 28 March 2012 (EDT)

All that I just asked is just a simple question, I suggested the Link vs. Ganondorf match a while ago. I'm just asking who put up this match for me. All of this pun talk is irrelevant to my question. The Home-run Bat, on the other hand; it causes one-hit KOs, and there is a Melee bonus that you get each time you KO with the bat (you can get it many times quickly with the one-hit KOs). Plus, the bat's lag never seems to bother me. RickTommy (talk) 12:32, 31 March 2012(EDT)
  4. Fan, Half-Decent combo shot. Home-Run Bat, Masive damage, Knockback, and KO potential. No contest at all. --71.48.179.136 12:37, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
  5. The Home-Run Bat is significantly stronger, and it's my 2nd favorite item in the Smash Bros. series. (my favorite item is the Hammer) Smash Master 12:43, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
  6. Really don't like the Fan, Home-Run Bat is OK. If I have items turned on, I don't play with either, but I guess Home-Run Bat is slightly better. Doesn't warrant a pun though. Toast Wii U Logo Transparent.pngltimatumA transparent image of Swadloon for my sig. 13:27, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
  7. Like Toast says on his comment for Ness on his userpage, "Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat." Also, my baseball game was rained out today, which also inspired me to vote for this. KREEEEENG! Kind regards, MeleeMarth01. MM01Sig.png 13:29, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
  8. There's a reason the fan isn't used in Home Run Contest. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 13:31, 31 March 2012 (EDT)

  12. Better for throwing. 1HKO only works in four player matches. Seen players online do it. Never works. LightningBlue: Music is Power 17:35, 31 March 2012 (EDT)

  18. Often overlooked is the Bat's incredible prowess as a throwing weapon. It flies fast, KOs well under 100%, and it's the strongest throwing item in Brawl that is reusable without needing to be recaught. This is what makes it such a deadly and effective item, not its OHKO potential with its smash attack. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 02:10, 1 April 2012 (EDT)

  22. I agree with Omega Tyrant's vote. It flies fast and it KOs well. --Otaku-Kirby (talk) 17:12, 2 April 2012 (EDT)
  23. Because it rocks and can go REEEEEAAAALLLLLLYYYYY far and is a OHKO but uses up time... Still good though 207.236.90.177 14:58, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
  24. Yeah, I usually always ignore fans if they appear. Bats, however, have strength and powah. 140.182.209.195 09:02, 4 April 2012 (EDT)
  25. "KREEEEENG!" Most Wonderful Sound, indeed. Although I've gradually taken a liking to the Fan's Lethal Joke Weapon properties, scoring a one-hit knockout (OHKO) with the Home-Run Bat is one of the most satisfying videogame experiences ever. A bit easier to do in multiplayer due to the sheer chaoticness arising during a match; pulling it off in single-player is amazing. A shame that it's very predictable, but the predictability of it makes actually pulling off a "home run" feel even greater! And finally, Ness packs a pseudo-Home Run Bat as a smash attack, to boot! 72.3.33.10 15:59, 4 April 2012 (EDT)
  26. SMAAAAAAAASSHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Idk. I just have always prefered the Home-Run Bat. GormanLuigi The Circus Leader's Mask from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 11:33, 6 April 2012 (EDT)
  27. Though its possible to spam either I guess, I dislike the spamming of the fan more than that of the bat. The bat gets it over with more quickly. ;P 71.48.126.71 12:46, 6 April 2012 (EDT)

  1. Oh, wow. Though the difficulty of escaping the fan, I believe it's much better to send them skyrocketing off the stage with a three-second charge-up. I agree, with the guy above me, too..... "KREEEEEEEEENG" (More like "K'DEEEEEENG") is the most satisfying sound in the game. MILK! (talk) 16:11, 4 April 2012 (EDT)
