Event Match 44: Mewtwo Strikes! is the 44th of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee. The opponents are both Zelda and Mewtwo. The match starts off with the player fighting Zelda, and she can be attacked without penalty. After fifteen seconds, Mewtwo appears and teams with Zelda to fight the player, and KOing it results in success. However, if Zelda is KO'd at any time, the match ends in failure.
During the battle, the music from Poké Floats plays.
Trivia
- This event possibly references the movie Mewtwo Strikes Back where Mewtwo makes Nurse Joy ("portrayed" by Zelda, whose characteristics are similar) his mind-controlled servant.
