Event Match 44: Mewtwo Strikes! is one of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee. The opponents are both Zelda and Mewtwo. The match starts off with Zelda, and she can be attacked without penalty, but KO'ing her causes the match to end in failure. Mewtwo joins the fight after fifteen seconds - KO'ing it is the goal.

Trivia

  • During the battle, the music of Poké Floats plays.
  • Since Star KOs do not "count" until the victim plays out the animation, it is possible to KO Zelda before KO'ing Mewtwo off the side or bottom without failing the event. This however requires very tight timing.
  • If CPU Zelda self distructs, the match will still end in failure.
