It will be the eighth installment of the Smash Summit series for Melee, and will be held on June 13th-16th, 2019. Players voted in

The voting system received some minor changes. First, if a person votes for a player who gets eliminated, they will receive half of their votes back, and the votes can be used for other players until the voting ends. Also, the final two players who get eliminated have the choice of either taking a portion of the raised funds that they would have gotten, or be flown out to the tournament, where they can participate in activities and practice.

Trivia

  • This is the first Smash Summit where Mew2King and SFAT will not attend, as Mew2King declined his invitation and SFAT qualified at Smash 'N' Splash 5 but declined due to a wedding[1].
    • This is also S2J's first Smash Summit where he was invited rather than voted in.
  • This is currently the Smash Summit with the most international attendance, with six non-U.S. players competing, either through invitation, qualifying, or being voted in.
  • This is the first tournament ever with at least two of the Five Gods in attendance where none of them placed Top 4.
