The Coinbox #98 - SM4SH SENDOFF was a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U online event held on April 3rd, 2024. It was marketed as a send-off to Smash 4 as it was held days before Nintendo's shutdown of the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS online servers on April 8th. In addition, the tournament was the start of a new chapter of Coinbox events, in which every other week would feature a non-Ultimate game.
A ban on Bayonetta was voted on prior to the event, with the majority voting to ban.[1] However a "gentleman's clause" was implemented in which Bayonetta would be allowed only if both players agreed to it. This remains the only notable online event that has banned Bayonetta.
