Wolf is a playable character in The Akaneia Build, a mod for Super Smash Bros. Melee. He was the first bonus character added into the mod in its v0.5 release on January 20th, 2021.

The Akaneia Build repurposes archived recordings by Mahito Ōba from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, with Jock Blaney reprising his role through archived recordings from Star Fox 64 via Fox and Falco's Smash Taunts on Fichina.

Victory poses[edit]

A rendition of a portion of the main theme of Star Fox 64.
  • Claws the air twice, pauses and kicks while saying "Mission Complete!"
  • Faces away from the screen, raises an arm, then turns to face the screen while scoffing.
  • Leans forward and snarls, then stands up straight, crosses his arms, and laughs.

Trophies[edit]

Like Diddy Kong, Charizard, Lucas, and Sonic, Wolf's trophies are automatically obtained upon downloading v0.9 and onwards.

Classic Mode trophy
Wolf
As leader of the mercenary gang Star Wolf, he took orders from Andross to hunt down the Star Fox team. His rivalry with Fox, and the McCloud family, may have begun long ago, but Wolf's true goals remain a mystery. Is his hatred of Fox enough to keep him fighting, or is he chasing a big prize from his ruthless boss? Only Wolf knows for sure.
Star Fox 64 (6/97)
Adventure Mode SMASH trophy
Wolf SMASH
From a distance, his combat style looks a lot like Fox's fast, frenzied fighting. But Wolf packs a bit more weight into each heavy strike. This is clear from his modified blaster: slow, but packed with power. Wolf Flash cuts at an angle, catching foes off-guard and tossing them off-balance with surprising force. Watch out for his wild moves!
B: Blaster
Smash B: Wolf Flash
All-Star Mode SMASH trophy
Wolf SMASH
Wolf may be ruthless with his claws, but he doesn't leap blindly into danger—literally. Unlike Fox or Falco, he recovers with a fiery kick instead of flying. He has strong moves to drop opponents fast, but needs help to return to the stage. If you're Wolf's prey... you'd better run fast!
Up & B: Fire Wolf
Down & B: Reflector

Trivia[edit]

  • Though many of Wolf's voice lines are reused from Mahito Ōba's reprisal from Brawl, two voice clips are notable outliers: his Star KO voice line is from Brawl's English version (where he was voiced by Jay Ward), while his "Mission complete." victory quote is unique to The Akaneia Build and performed by an unknown individual imitating Ōba's voice.
