Ultimate Uppercut (究極のアッパーカット, Ultimate Uppercut) is one of the three neutral special moves usable by Mii Brawlers. It functions like a mix between Donkey Kong's Giant Punch and Little Mac's Straight Lunge, being a powerful chargeable attack that can be stored (similar to Giant Punch and many others) while granting slight super armor when charging and not having any increased damage unless fully charged (like Straight Lunge).

When used, the Brawler begins charging automatically, and when the special move button is tapped again during that period the Brawler unleashes a powerful jumping uppercut. It is similar in function to any auto-charge special, meaning that during mid charge, pressing the special move button again will unleash the attack, while shielding, rolling or air dodging on time will cancel the charging animation and preserve the charge amount, and the special move button can be pressed again from that point on to resume charging. Also like many auto-charge specials, the Mii Brawler will stop charging as soon as the max charge is reached. The same can also occur on hit or KO, but the charge will be lost in that instance instead. Unlike many auto-charge specials, however, the base power of the uppercut does not increase in power at any point during the charge: only the maximum-charged version does more damage than the uncharged version.

Similar to Little Mac's Straight Lunge, the Mii is able to shrug off weak attacks while charging much like super armor. The move also negates all of the Mii's forward/upward momentum if used in the air, and if this happens, all of their other moves will be disabled, leaving them helpless and resulting in an SD if they are over a pit. However, using the move in the air does provide a short leap, so it can be beneficial for reaching a nearby ledge or dodging attacks from below at the last second. Additionally, if the uppercut is unleashed at just the right moment while the Mii is taking a blow, it can act as a sort of counterattack, as it knocks back the opponent and keeps the Brawler in position, though the Brawler will still take some damage from the opposing blow.

Customization

Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the variations:

Glitch

In rare cases, if the Mii Brawler uses the attack at the same time it is hit by another opponent, its fist will still be flashing, just as if the Ultimate Uppercut move was charging (blue) or in use (purple).
