Universe Icon

Shouldn't Roselina have the Mushroom Icon under her picture instead of the Special stages symbol? ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) 12:00, 18 December 2013 (EST)

That's a fault of the template, going to fix. Toomai Glittershine   The Eggster 12:02, 18 December 2013 (EST)

General Page

Should the character also get her own generalized page? Hard to word, but I mean one with information not just exclusive to Smash. MarioGalaxyTalk 12:14, 18 December 2013 (EST)

As with all characters, yes. Toomai Glittershine   The Boss 12:16, 18 December 2013 (EST)

"Huge" size

I'm feeling like that is just an awkward adjective to use. Perhaps 'tall' would be better? I'm not sure exactly what I'm going off of, but 'huge' just feels wrong, as if it implies she's Ganondorf or Bowser or something, and doesn't really fit Rosalina. She is a large character, but 'huge' would imply she has bulk, which she doesn't really have. I think 'tall' might be a better word. So . . .? — Jigglypuff the Magic Dragon (talk)   11:15, 23 December 2013 (EST)

Sakurai even uses "tall" himself, so there's no reason not to use it over "huge". Omega Tyrant   11:18, 23 December 2013 (EST)

Luma Shot

Sakurai refers to one of the screenshots (Jan 21st) depicting a move called the "Luma Shot". Is that enough to name the move and use it as a caption for the screenshot, listed under known information, ect, or are the words "This is the Luma Shot" not clear enough? I'm curious because nobody mentioned it in the atricle yet. 174.6.89.112 13:52, 24 January 2014 (EST)

Is it me...

Or will Rosalina and Luma be the top tiers of SSB4? Anyone want to discuss what their potential is? Requiem of Ice (talk) 00:13, 1 March 2014 (EST)

SW:TALK. Competitive analysis will have to wait for the games' release. Miles (talk) 00:21, 1 March 2014 (EST)
Of course, but from what I've seen so far, she's going to be my reliable main. But I will wait, if needed. Requiem of Ice (talk) 14:00, 1 March 2014 (EST)

For those who are wondering...

We're using "Rosalina" and not "Rosalina & Luma" for a few reasons. Most notably is the precedent: "Pikmin & Olimar" was the term used universally before Brawl's release, but the game itself used just "Olimar". Additionally, the page is already marked with the unofficial name icon, to make clear that the shorter name not strictly the official one. Miles (talk) 19:27, 9 April 2014 (EDT)

Well we've seen the roster now, and Pikmin & Olimar did indeed change to Olimar, but Rosalina did not do the same thing. I always thought it was too speculative to cut Luma from the title, and now I feel even more strongly that we should change the name to Rosalina & Luma (SSB4) Toast  ltimatum 15:09, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
Rosalina & Luma (SSB4) should be the title now that the demo showed that as her player name. SeanWheeler (talk) 18:38, 11 June 2014 (EDT)
I don't really want the page to be renamed, but due to the article titles policy, I agree. Red (talk)   22:20, 24 June 2014 (EDT)
Yeah, we probably should change it. Rosalina and Luma have different names in Japan, so it's not like they named her that way in the demo because it meant fewer announcer voice clips or anything. FirstaLasto 20:19, 1 July 2014 (EDT)
So are we going to wait for the game's release to move her? During the big release code red while we're busy updating the whole site? SeanWheeler (talk) 20:52, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
I'll probably not manage to accomplish anything in saying this, but I think we should keep this page's name as just Rosalina, because, even after "Rosalina and Luma" was confirmed to be the official name of the character, Rosalina is generally still the community-accepted name. I know it's true that people also shorten names for characters like King Dedede and Zero Suit Samus, but for Rosalina it's much, much more widespread. And, to me, the fact that we had 'Rosalina' as the name of this page even when the trailer clearly gave her the name 'Rosalina and Luma' is the kicker. Besides, Smash Wiki is not official. Nymbare and his talk 11:22, 23 July 2014 (EDT)

(resetting indent) The page naming policy states that character pages should be named as how they are named in-game. We believed that it would be changed to Rosalina, like how Pikmin & Olimar was changed to Olimar in non-Japanese versions of Brawl, so we simply named it "Rosalina". However, we were incorrect. Red (talk)   19:13, 24 July 2014 (EDT)

Support Agree with Red. Awesomelink234 (talk) 22:20, 24 July 2014 (EDT)

I'm opposed to the move still for the time being. Honestly, we should just throw the unofficial icon up in the corner and leave it at that. Miles (talk) 22:23, 24 July 2014 (EDT)

Support Awesomelink234 (talk) 22:29, 24 July 2014 (EDT)
I support the move as well, per the policy. It'll be a lot of work changing every link, but we might as well get started now. Blue Ninjakoopa 22:37, 24 July 2014 (EDT)
I Support moving it to "Rosalina and Luma (SSB4)" as well Laikue (talk) 22:43, 24 July 2014 (EDT)
Oppose. It could very well change when the game is released. RickTommy 23:49, 24 July 2014 (EDT)
Strong Support We (I say 'we' through grated teeth) were silly to assume that the character would be called 'Rosalina' when every single source called the character 'Rosalina & Luma'. There was no evidence of any name other than Rosalina & Luma. It's highly unlikely that the name will change now, even the announcer says Rosalina & Luma. Toast  ltimatum 14:31, 25 July 2014 (EDT)
Oppose A part of me feels this move is too much. Besides, not much people use "Rosalina & Luma"; they usually mention just Rosalina herself. Marking it as unofficial lingo like Miles suggested could suit it better, and it takes less effort. Berrenta (talk) 15:41, 25 July 2014 (EDT)
But should Rosalina & Luma be treated like ukemi or strong attack? SW:OFFICIAL is a legitimate argument against the move, especially since the community refers to her as just "Rosalina", but I think Rosalina is a special case since she's a significant, playable character. Blue Ninjakoopa 15:53, 25 July 2014 (EDT)

Support Assuming I'm supporting the move, anyhow. The official name is Rosalina & Luma in-game. ...a new Nutta is approaching... 16:47, 25 July 2014 (EDT)

Oppose per Berrenta. Since a vast majority of people call her "Rosalina", I'm thinking we could do what we did for SSB4... mark it as unofficial due to how well it's known by society. Qwerty (talk) 01:44, 31 July 2014 (EDT)

Support The consensus here is strongly in favor of renaming and while I call Rosalina just that, the fighter's name officially is Rosalina & Luma. Those who are saying this fighter is more commonly called Rosalina than Rosalina & Luma forget that other characters' names are shortened, e.g. Falcon, Zamus, Trainer, Jiggly, DK, Diddy etc. and here they are called Captain Falcon, Zero Suit Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Jigglypuff, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. RoyboyX Talk 00:33, 1 August 2014 (EDT)

Is there a protection on moving the page? RoyboyX Talk 00:16, 5 August 2014 (EDT)
There is. However, I still feel we shouldn't move, especially since the game's not out yet. Berrenta (talk) 01:10, 5 August 2014 (EDT)
And I think that's a TERRIBLE idea, as everyone is going to be VERY busy during that time updating the site with the massive amount of information we're going to have to add. Laikue (talk) 01:38, 5 August 2014 (EDT)
Yeah, Laikue has a good point; the longer we wait, the more work it will be to change everything that needs to be changed when the move happens. FirstaLasto 01:58, 5 August 2014 (EDT)
Motion for immediate move of Rosalina (SSB4) to Rosalina & Luma (SSB4). RoyboyX Talk 10:30, 5 August 2014 (EDT)

Support Move Her name is officially called "Rosalina & Luma". Unlike Pikmin and Olimar were the game just refers to him as "Olimar". ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) is bad for me 14:36, 7 August 2014 (EDT)

@Miles: the problem with the unofficial icon is that the Wii U's eShop on Smash Wii U's page has her video marked as just Rosalina. Red (talk)   18:29, 7 August 2014 (EDT)

Wow. A huge debate here I guess. Anyways I support the move for the official name. Plus the Luma is pretty significant to Rosalina's fighting style. Dots (talk)   The Non-stick 22:17, 10 August 2014 (EDT)

Rosalina & Luma are a duo, that's why they are called such in the game. If Olimar was called Pikmin & Olimar in the game, we would rename him that too. He isn't, so we won't. As for Rosalina, SSB43DS releases in almost a month. It's not going to change. Rename this now so we don't have to deal with the conundrum of it all later. RoyboyX Talk 17:41, 11 August 2014 (EDT)

I am kinda tempted to move this now like you are due to the official name but I don't think I want to do that just yet. Who knows, many might just use the character as Rosalina instead and even the game might change it to be so. Dots (talk)   The Brawl 22:44, 11 August 2014 (EDT)
I would have moved this but apparently there is protection from moving. That would probably apply to you as well. Like I said, with the release date being so close I can't see why the name would change now. RoyboyX Talk 22:51, 11 August 2014 (EDT)

Support per Dots. Chilex (talk) 21:53, 12 August 2014 (EDT)

Honestly, I support the move, but it wouldn't really matter to me. The game can call her anything it wants, I'll still call her Rosalina...but if we're going for accuracy here, it should be moved to "Rosalina & Luma (SSB4)". Aidan the Average Gamer (talk) 14:56, 14 August 2014 (EDT)

Exactly. They're a duo, the Luma is a separate entity that attacks shit. If you want to call her Rosalina go ahead, but it's not just Rosalina who's doing the fighting. RoyboyX Talk 14:59, 14 August 2014 (EDT)

Why hasn't this been moved yet? There is literally no reason this shouldn't be moved, we've seen her called Rosalina and Luma in-game, the majority of people here want it moved, waiting to move the page would just hurt the wiki, and more people call her Rosaluma outside of the game than Rosalina anyway! Should we just move it to "Rosaluma (SSB4)"? No, because that would be super unofficial. At least if you're not going to move it give a reason as to why. Laikue (talk) 15:30, 14 August 2014 (EDT)

I agree. This argument has been going on for awhile and the majority of people say Rosalina & Luma is the most accurate. Move the page, please. ...a new Nutta is approaching...

Yes, please, move it. RoyboyX Talk 17:10, 14 August 2014 (EDT)

But what if the name changes at the last second? Take a look at LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean and its main character. Early game demos and and even a pre-release copy called his main outfit "Captain Jack Sparrow", while later versions called him "Jack Sparrow". Yeah, pretty bad when someone gets an early copy and the beta name is still there and post-release copies with "Captain" being cut out. Which is why I suggest we wait for October 3rd to move Rosalina. Even if someone gets a copy on October 2nd, we'd wait the next day. That way, we won't move her only to realized that Sakurai changed her at the last minute, causing two pointless moves. And besides, the Japanese release will have the bigger code red. The American will have some miner tweaks from the Japanese. SeanWheeler (talk) 11:38, 15 August 2014 (EDT)

I think we should wait. Yes, "Rosalina & Luma" will most likely be the official name when the game is released, but if it isn't and we change it beforehand, we will have created a lot of extra work for no reason. ChuckNorris  13:01, 15 August 2014 (EDT)

I guess that makes vague, illogical sense. But I doubt it'll be changed. ...a new Nutta is approaching...

Fine, I guess we can afford to wait a while. But if we're (supporters of the move) right about it not changing then you have to buy me the suited Samus Figma. Joking, but I don't think it will change. Although if you are generous enough I do want a Samus Figma... :P RoyboyX Talk 09:34, 16 August 2014 (EDT)

No. Now that I've thought about it, this can be renamed quite easily. And if the ingame name does change to just Rosalina when the game hits shelves (lest I repeat my view of this theory), there is an easy function called rollback. RoyboyX Talk 23:37, 22 August 2014 (EDT)

Problem is that rollback only reverts consecutive edits done by the most recent user to edit the page. If someone else edits after the move, the move cannot be rolled back. Berrenta (talk) 00:02, 23 August 2014 (EDT)
Well, I meant undo really but you get the point. I'm mainly referring to any templates, which will likely not be edited as much as her actual article. RoyboyX Talk 00:04, 23 August 2014 (EDT)
Or we can wait. The English release is in a couple months. As in, we only have six weeks. Even if she's called "Rosetta & Luma" in the Japanese release, we wait three weeks for the English release to confirm it. Also, there can be a chance that templates could be edited between the move and the moveback. Yeah, obviously to add "& Luma", but what if there was more edits to the template than that? If we move Rosalina now before the English release only for her to be renamed "Rosalina" in the final version, we would still waste work in moving. One needed move is better than two unnecessary moves. SeanWheeler (talk) 10:27, 24 August 2014 (EDT)
