Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules

  1. When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
  2. You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
  3. Put a # before your vote to facilitate the vote counting.
  4. Type ~~~~ after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not.
  5. There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
  6. Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
  7. Any comments about the fight should be left in the comment section. It is recommended that you do not post argumentative, accusative, or any sort of comment with the intention of starting an argument with someone on the opposing side. The Smash Arena is a popularity contest, there's no need to argue with the other side on why your choice is superior, or why they are wrong with their reasoning for picking their choice.

I don't guess you should be thankful, but this round pits the two best pilots of the Star Fox team against each other. While Fox is the definite head of the group, Falco is in many ways the more popular of the two. Which of them wins their latest battle of hits and wits?

Round 67: Ridley vs. Rayquaza

Two pretty large dragon-shaped creatures are this round's subjects. While one is considered "legendary" and can make the weather shut up, the other is apparently immune to death and will keep on your tail even when the planet blows up. Which of these two will come out on top?

  5. Ridley is a very unique villain among video games. Unlike nearly every other villain, Ridley has a deep, personal conflict with Samus that is not related at all to "stopping his plans" or "interfering with his orders". As a result, he keeps being resurected and reborn, each time with the same malice he feels towards Samus. This is relfected in SSE. Rayquaza simply does not have this kind of background, and thus is a much less developed character (if having any developement at all, considerering its series). Three reasons: First, because I've just been playing Metroid: Other M, and I'm in a Samus mood, Secondly, in SSE, you're forced to vs Rayquaza with Diddy or Fox, which are both easily among my worst characters, and lastly, the insane amount of times that Ridley tries to come back to kill you (Ridley in about 5 metroid games, Meta Ridley in Metroid Prime, and Omega Ridley in Metroid Prime 3). Also, he's purple, and purple is my favourite colour. And I never really liked the Gen III pokemon, amd Dragon/Flying is an overused type combination anyway. And Rayquaza's ability is kinda useless. Just a little FYI, Rayquaza cannot control the weather completely. He can only make it peaceful. He cannot make it not ever make it rain, or make it rain, or make a storm.
