I was kind of wondering about the categorisation of smashers who aren't from the USA. It seems that, for example, the Dutch smashers are added to the categories 'Smashers', 'European Smashers' and 'Dutch Smashers'. Since Dutch Smashers is a category within European Smasher, which is on its own a category within 'Smashers' it seems pretty obvious that Dutch Smashers are also European Smasher and also Smashers. Shouldn't they be added to just that one category instead of all three of them? I don't think Wikipedia uses this system either. Is there an admin around who can clarify this for me? --[[User:Utto|Utto]] 22:06, March 30, 2007 (GMT)

I think that the order of the games on the template should be rearrangeable, so that it can show the player's level of prominence/how much they play the game. For example, {{Sm|Hungrybox}} is known as one of the best ''Melee'' players in the world, but he also plays ''Brawl'' less frequently at a lower level (He uses King Dedede and Jigglypuff in ''Brawl''). Therefore, his ''Brawl'' mains should be listed after his ''Melee'' and ''PM'' mains on the template. Category structure in wiki-based websites can get very complicated (just take a look at the top level of categories at Wikipedia!) but it's less important to worry about redundant categories in individual articles than it is to worry about the actual categorization of categories. Especially when it comes down to state-level sub-divisions like Category:Wisconsin smashers. In that case, Category:American smashers belongs to Category:Smashers, but Category:Wisconsin smashers belongs only to Category:American smashers. Otherwise, both the American smashers and Wisconsin smashers would be listed as sub-categories to Category:Smashers. Which would obviously get needlessly complicated when two or three hundred political sub-divisions get thrown into the mix. --RJM Talk 15:13, September 18, 2007 (EDT)

Smasher is not a name and should be lowercase. Smiddle ( TalkConts ) 20:28, May 3, 2007 (GMT)

You're right, and that's going to take a lot of tedious work to fix on the European side, but I imagine I'll get around to it. I'm just trying to get the standards in place for other countries so it doesn't happen again, thus creating a larger problem. -- Randall00 Talk 15:30, July 19, 2007 (EDT)

Can anyone who plays Smash create an article about themselves and place it in the category 'Smashers'? Also, of what purpose does the subcategory 'Female smashers' serve? It does not seem to have any use or relevance here.

New Category: "[Character] mains"[edit]

Rearrange the order[edit]

I think that the order of the games on the template should be rearrangeable, so that it can show the player's level of prominence/how much they play the game. For example, Hungrybox is known as one of the best Melee players in the world, but he also plays Brawl less frequently at a lower level (He uses King Dedede and Jigglypuff in Brawl). Therefore, his Brawl mains should be listed after his Melee and PM mains on the template. Awesome Cardinal 2000 10:21, 2 February 2014 (EST)
