Pikmin Order is Pikmin & Olimar's down special move, which is sometimes referred to as the whistle. Captain Olimar calls back any Pikmin that have been separated from him. The move is not very useful as Pikmin rarely stray from Olimar. This can be used to recall Pikmin in danger, as protecting Pikmin has significant benefits (see Pikmin Pluck).

Though this move has benefits of saving Pikmin, Olimar may make himself vulnerable to charged smash attacks if he does not pay attention. When Olimar uses this move, the Pikmin in his line-up will group themselves by color. If he uses it while the Pikmin are already grouped, the front group of Pikmin will move to the end of the line-up.
*Any Pikmin that are seperated from Olimar will, after a split second, immediately fly to his side. This can be used to recall ones that have fallen behind or are pummeling an enemy, though Pikmin in the midst of some actions (such as travelling after being thrown) cannot be recalled.
*If there are no Pikmin separated from Olimar, the ones in Olimar's line will be organized by colour. If they are already in sorted order, the next colour of Pikmin will be sorted to the front, following the order of Red, Yellow, Blue, White, and Purple, with the previous front-runners being shifted to the back. As various Pikmin have different strengths, Olimar must do this to control his lineup to get the most out of it.
*Olimar will gain 14 frames of infinite launch resistance. Because of the speed of the move, it is relatively easy to tank any attack in this way. As long as Olimar doesn't get predictable (as this does nothing against grabs), this can make him very difficult to KO.

This move has a few launch resistance frames. It is a very fast move, which is good because Olimar may need to reorder Pikmin on the fly to maximize his strength. The move is useful in its launch resistance frames as well, and an experienced player can defend against otherwise-unshieldable and undodgeable Final Smashes with well-timed uses of this move. It will often confuse a human opponent for some time if they hit Olimar with a powerful attack when using this move, only to see him damaged but in place, ready to counterattack.

Pikmin Order (often called the whistle in competitive play) is Olimar's down special move. It consists of Olimar quickly blowing his whistle. When used, the move has three primary effects:

 • Any Pikmin that are seperated from Olimar will, after a split second, immediately fly to his side. This can be used to recall ones that have fallen behind or are pummeling an enemy, though Pikmin in the midst of some actions (such as travelling after being thrown) cannot be recalled.
 • If there are no Pikmin separated from Olimar, the ones in Olimar's line will be organized by colour.
 • Olimar will gain 14 frames of infinite launch resistance. Because of the speed of the move, it is relatively easy to tank any attack in this way. As long as Olimar doesn't get predictable (as this does nothing against grabs), this can make him very difficult to KO.

Origin

In Pikmin, this ability was essential to getting the Pikmin to follow the player when they get lost or become idle. The whistle is aimed at an area and the Pikmin in that area would start following the player again to get them away from threats or call on them when the player needed them. It is was far more important in Pikmin than it is in Brawl.

Olimar was also able to separate Pikmin into groups of color by pressing the X button. Although doing this didn't produce the same circular animation, it did produce the whistle noise.
