Preview

Hi, I noticed that when editing, you make an excess amount of minor edits to the same page, rather than doing all your editing in one edit. When editing, use preview to look over your edits for mistakes and complete your editing in one edit, rather than just hitting save and then looking over it to make more edits. Otherwise you clog the recent changes with excess unnecessary edits, that blot out other edits and annoy other users. Omega Tyrant 06:47, 12 February 2013 (EST)

Skin image

I noticed you tried to use this image in your personal skin and it didn't work. Would you be interested in this fix?

1. Put [[Image:Smashwiki logo80.png|121x135px]] into any page and show preview (the 121x135px is because that's the regular logo's size). The wiki will create a version of that size.
2. Right-click on the image and view its properties. In this case, the smaller image is as http://www.ssbwiki.com/images/thumb/e/e7/Smashwiki_logo80.png/121px-Smashwiki_logo80.png. Put that in your .css file instead of the original.

Note that this method works for any image, but changes aren't applied until the small version is re-previewed in any page. Toomai Glittershine The Inconceivable 11:00, 17 April 2014 (EDT)

Wii Fit Trophies

Hi, I noticed you altered the descriptions on the page List of SSB4 trophies (Wii Fit series) to use terms that are wiki standard. I wanted to ask if you realized that since they're in-game descriptions, it'd be more accurate to use the exact wording found in the game, rather than the wiki standard for such things. It's a rather simple revert fix, but before I do that, I'd like to know if you have a counter-argument in favor of altering the text. I hope I don't come off as rude here, I just want to know if there's a reason that it would be better to leave it like you changed it to. Mistiryshak (talk) 10:59, 29 September 2014 (EDT)

Redirects

I might want to tell you these two things about redirects:

1. Talk pages do not get redirects, so don't make one for a talk page. Same goes for images.
2. Don't make redirects with just capitalization changes (such as "Alternate Costume" for "Alternate costume"); the search bar is NOT case-sensitive, so typing in something like "aLteRnaTE coStUmE" would still bring you to Alternate costume.
3. Only make redirects if you know many more people will use them. This isn't a problem with you, per se, but I'd figure I mention it.

For your first answer, yes, it should be deleted, but it might be a good idea to ask XL to change all the links to the current one. If she (or Toomai) says no, then I guess that would be an exception to the "no image redirect" rule, but I'd still ask. For your second answer, we actually don't have a policy on redirects; it's just a general rule we follow (I actually have an idea of putting something on redirects here, but I'm not sure if I should). If a move-remnant redirect is used on a ton of pages, it's probably not worth it even for XL to change/delete. Redirects are pretty cheap overall, it's not really a bother to have a ton around. Toomai Glittershine Le Grand Fromage 15:53, 21 November 2014 (EST)

Ness's Down Aerial

• Down aerial is much faster, now almost as fast as its SSB64 iteration.

Please stop re-adding this "buff", because it has a new animation where Ness spins before stomping and that it puts this move's start-up lag at the same speed as in Brawl (around 15 frames) so please don't add it. YoshiKong (talk) 13:29, 13 December 2014 (EST)

Bots have "Not have minor edits to discussion pages trigger the new messages prompt (nominornewtalk)" on Special:UserGroupRights, but neither regular users nor autoconfirmed users do. This means that only bots can do it. PikaSamus (talk) 14:40, 18 December 2014 (EST)

It's too late for this, but if you don't want to ping users, then just don't fix the templates and leave it to the bots. It's really a minor issue, and the number of unsubst'd unsigned templates can get quite large at times, so large that only bots can fix it quickly; plus, unnecessary pinging can be quite annoying for some. Personally, I wouldn't have fix the templates. He asked if it was really bad, and he would fix it if it was. To me, that means "don't do it", and for a thing like this, 22 is a lot, and since most, if not all, fixes were to user talk pages, I'd just let XL do it, even if the effect isn't immediate.
