Userspace editing[edit]

Heya, just giving you a poke about userspace editing. While there’s nothing wrong with it on its own, it is a problem if you prioritise your userspace over the mainspace. Please try to balance your user page edits with some edits in the mainspace of the wiki. Thanks! Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 00:45, July 10, 2020 (EDT)

I did not know that there were limits on this, so I apologize. Is there a list of pages that need attention somewhere from which I can select articles on which to work? Everyman Or Nobody? (talk) 01:36, July 10, 2020 (EDT)
You mean "Things to do"? Or you can take a look at SmashWiki:Community portal Grand Dad.png NPM🐷 Morr!? A legit emoji in the Smash Asia server. 01:39, July 10, 2020 (EDT)
"Things to do" was for what I was looking, thank you. My apologies again for the excessive time spent on my user page. Everyman Or Nobody? (talk) 01:45, July 10, 2020 (EDT)

Move Overviews[edit]

Hey, not every move page needs a small overview saying what the move is especially since most of them have a hitbox visual that includes the animation. It's better to leave overviews for actual competitive expertise. I'm not saying you can't add those small descriptions, I'm just saying it's pointless. Your userpage[edit]

Hi! Was going through the speedy delete category and noticed the Wes images you uploaded were marked, and while I will reconfirm whether or not you'll be using them in the future while I'm here, I will also bring something to your attention: to avoid having to create redlinks, I'd recommend using the moveset table in my own character movesets page that makes it so there aren't nonexistent links created. It just makes it a bit easier for the wiki and for everyone else. Aidan, the Rurouni 16:44, August 9, 2020 (EDT)

And now they are deleted. S3AHAWK (talk)This image is my signature icon. Also seen on Wikibound as File:S3AHAWK SIG.png 16:05, August 13, 2020 (EDT)
Much appreciated. I had forgotten that those files were still there, and because they were unused, I am thankful for their removal. By the way, Aidan, I really like your character ideas and associated movesets (especially the Shadow one). :) Everyman Or Nobody? (talk) 19:27, August 18, 2020 (EDT)

Same question as Aidan brought up, but different image this time. The image is the head icon for the Dark Magician, but since you already have head icons for it and its recolors, I am unsure if it should be tagged for deletion. Please either tag the image for speedy deletion or use it in your page. DekZek Dekzeksig.png 12:32, September 9, 2020 (EDT)

Ah, yes, I had forgotten about the initial Dark Magician icon. I will tag it for speedy deletion now. Thanks :) Everyman Or Nobody? (talk) 19:14, September 9, 2020 (EDT)

Hello again! Casual reminder that too much editing of your userspace can put you on probation, which, given your dedication to your page, I am sure you don't want to be on the receiving end of. I'm also gonna reiterate usage of the wikicode for the moveset table that I've laid out on my own character movesets page to get rid of all the red links, which is something the wiki flags. Thanks! Aidan, the Rurouni 16:33, September 21, 2020 (EDT)

Oh, that is what you meant by redlinks. I hadn't knowledge of that term. I'll adjust the code to eliminate those dead links. Additionally, I am planning a large edit soon, but I will be sure to edit the mainspace a good deal to compensate (I admit that I have been spending too much time on my page, hahaha). I will work toward achieving a more lawful balance after my next edit. Thank you! Everyman Or Nobody? (talk) 16:46, September 21, 2020 (EDT)

Piping links[edit]

Hi, when adding links in your edits, do not pipe links when you can just link the wording you're already inserting into the article and get the same result. For example with your recent edit, you did the following:

  • [[Directional influence|DI]]

When you could have just wrote the link as:

  • [[DI]]

This links to the same page and looks the same in the article, while taking up less bytes and is much simpler to parse in the wiki code. One of primary reasons redirects exist is to cut down on the need to pipe links, so take advantage of them. Read our Manual of Style for more information on how you should handle links and other wiki editing rules. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 02:35, May 23, 2023 (EDT)

Understood. Thank you! Everyman Or Nobody? (talk) 14:13, May 25, 2023 (EDT)
