ThundeRzReiGN is a Project M Donkey Kong player with a Captain Falcon secondary from Oakland, California. He is widely considered the greatest Project M player of all time, ranking 1st on the Project M/+ All Time Top 100 and winning 9 majors throughout his career, the most out of any Project M player; his victories include The Even Bigger Balc, the largest Project M tournament of all time, and The Bigger Balc, the fifth-largest Project M tournament of all time. The sole developer of Donkey Kong's metagame, he catalyzed the development of a character many considered among the worst in the 3.6 patch, leading to the character's rise on subsequent tier lists. He was also considered one of the best Captain Falcon players in the world along with Bubbles and ORLY. Though he primarily competed in 3.6, he also competed in Project+ for a few years, but stopped competing in the game in 2022 to play Nickelodeon All Star Brawl and its sequel.
Aside from Project M, ThundeRzReiGN also competed in Super Smash Bros. Melee, though he claimed to have little interest in the title.[1]
Playing style[edit]
ThundeRzReiGN's playstyle is centered around his extensive punish game, alongside his patient, bait-and-punish style neutral. Augmented by his ability to switch between aggressive and defensive play, it enables him to maneuver around opponents and bait out poor approaches or over-extensions. His accurate usage of Donkey Kong's combo starters (most notably his cargo up-throw) and follow-ups enable him to zero-to-death opponents for making a mistake. He couples this ability with an unmatched mastery and understanding of Donkey Kong's capabilities, allowing him to determine the most optimal option to use at any given time.
