The Preview button is a tool used to preview the edits made to a page before saving it, in order to catch grammar, spelling, and formatting errors. Saving the page automatically places the edit in the wiki's Recent Changes page, and too many edits to the same page can be annoying for other users. Users are therefore encouraged to use the preview button if they are not sure about how a certain part of their edit will look.
