Tires don exits

The phrase "Tires don exits", a misspelling of the phrase "tiers don't exist", is an inside joke among the Smash community, particularly amongst Melee players.

Origin

On the Smash World Forums in 2007, a user posted a message in the Super Smash Bros. Melee discussion rooms stating why he thought tier lists were invalid. The topic, now deleted, was entitled "Tires don exits" (sic). In addition to general derision due to the original poster's attempts to prove that tiers do not exist, a majority of the community found the butchered topic title to be amusing in itself. It later became a community inside joke, particularly when SWF administrator Scav later used the phrase as his custom title, and it eventually became part of a T-shirt sold by the SWF. Despite the gradually increasing focus on Brawl in the SWF, the phrase can still sometimes be seen on the various tier list posts at SWF, as well as some tournament results when a player using a lower tiered character does exceptionally well.
