- This event could be a reference to the fact that in EarthBound, Ness watched various shows, most notably those of the Runaway Five.
- The selection of Rockin' K.K. as the musical track for this match may reference the fact that both Rockin' K.K. as well as a recurring battle theme in EarthBound Beginnings and EarthBound are based on the song Johnny B. Goode.
- The event's Japanese name is a pun on slow life, a wasei-go word for the slow movement and which is often used in Japan to describe the gameplay style of Animal Crossing, and live, which in Japanese refers to a live performance or concert.
