RAIN (レイン) is an East Japan smasher who is widely known in the Japanese Smash scene.

In Brawl, he mains Meta Knight. In 2010, RAIN traveled to the United States to compete at Apex 2010. He placed 7th after losing to Lee Martin and Ally. In 2011, he competed at GENESIS 2 and placed 17th. He later attended Apex 2012, placing 13th after losing to ESAM and DEHF, and he also notably provided japanese commentary for Otori's and Nietono's set at grand finals. One of his biggest achievements in Smash came months later, where he won Japan's first international Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament, Sun Rise Tournament, defeating top players such as Mikeneko, Otori, and Vinnie.

In SSB4, he mains Sheik with Cloud as a secondary, and is considered the best Sheik player in Japan and one of the best in the world, with notable placings such as a 9th placing at EVO 2015. He is also one of the most dominant forces in the Umebura series of tournaments, with a streak of four consecutive wins in singles from Umebura 13 until Umebura 18.

RAIN is known for his ability to understand a player's habits after having played them multiple times (commonly known as downloading) and exploiting these habits to his advantage. As a result, RAIN does much better in Japanese tournaments than when he travels internationally. He is currently ranked 2nd on the Umebura Smash 4 Power Rankings. He has also competed in Melee in the past, and was ranked 2nd on the 2010 Kansai Melee Ranking Battles.
