Falco's down aerial is one of the most feared in the game, being a very fast and powerful [[spike]] that has no [[sourspot]], and having a spiking hitbox with a long duration (however, in the PAL version, the second half of the move produces weak horizontal knockback instead). It can easily be done out of a short hop. It is of extreme risk to use below the ledge, however, due to the combination of its long duration, Falco's very fast [[falling speed]], and Falco's terrible vertical recovery.

Overview

Falco's down aerial is one of the most feared in the game, being a very fast and powerful spike that has no sourspot, and having a spiking hitbox with a long duration (however, in the PAL version, the second half of the move produces weak horizontal knockback instead). It can easily be done out of a short hop. It is of extreme risk to use below the ledge, however, due to the combination of its long duration, Falco's very fast falling speed, and Falco's terrible vertical recovery.
