Adding images to articles[edit]

As the IP from before, you kept doing this. Keep in mind that if you're going to add images to an article, please upload the image first. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 21:30, 7 July 2018 (EDT)

Yeah, but the reason I've been doing this is that it dosen't allow me to upload images because it tells me I don't have the permision, so I was wondering how to.AnnieCat07 (talk) 11:40, 8 July 2018 (EDT)

Sorry for my late reply. You will need to be autoconfirmed to create pages, and by extension, upload images. Hope this helps. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 06:13, 9 July 2018 (EDT)

Multiple consecutive edits[edit]

Hi, I noticed a series of edits you did on the Squid Sisters and Munchlax pages. Editing a page over and over to get it right is not good practice, as it clogs up the Recent changes page quite a bit. You should always look at how the page will look like before submitting your changes by pressing the preview button at the bottom of the editing form. Thank you. Adding templates to articles[edit]

You've done this twice now - you appear to be adding templates to pages by copying their source code and then adding them to the page. That's not how templates work.

The correct way to use a template is to use {{Template:PageName}}, which will transclude the contents of the page linked onto the page you wrote it on, without bulking up the source code. Please do this next time you want to use a template on a page. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 08:19, 14 July 2018 (EDT)

Your userpage[edit]

There's no point in having a blank page, really. You should either have the page, or not. Aidan, the College-Bound Rurouni 18:43, 14 July 2018 (EDT)

Your Young Link image[edit]

Images displayed on the character pages must be relevant to the character's most recent appearance in Smash. In your case, Young Link does not use the masks, so I will reverting your edits. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Sonic Fan Leave a message if needed 22:55, 23 July 2018 (EDT)

Duck Hunt[edit]

Hi, Annie. Last week I left a detailed explanation for why we should be conservative with what we ascribe Duck Hunt's alts to be. In case you did not see the comment, I will post it here as well:

  1. Dalmatians do legitimately have floppy ears. I don’t know why anyone would suggest otherwise. However, so do Rottweilers. I think the issue is that the Rottweiler does not have a body-shape very compatible to the Duck Hunt dog. It is more likely that a hound-like dog would be the source of inspiration. The same with the Pit Bull for the blue alt. (color #3).
  2. In addition, I don’t believe either of these breeds are popular in Japan. Rottweilers and Pit Bulls are illegal in several areas of Japan and are consequently uncommon.
  3. That being said, I do not it can be argued that the Duck Hunt black alt. (color #2) is based on a Rottweiler or Coonhound because most of these dogs have black-and-tan coats. The alt has a tricolor coat, and while both Rottweilers and Coonhounds can exhibit this coat pattern, so do many, many other dogs and it is typically not associated with them. I see little reason to think the alt could arguably be based on any specific breed. There are just too many hound-like dog breeds with that type of coat. The most realistic and conservative comment to make is that the dog has a tricolored coat pattern. I have contacted the Japan Kennel Club for records on hunting dog registered in 2013 to learn if there’s a popular breed of hunting dog associated with the tricolored pattern that could be the source of inspiration, but they have not gotten back to me yet. Until we do, I do not think we could argue the black alt looks like any specific alt.
  4. I think we should be more conservative in general with the breeds suggested. Chocolate labs are monotone and probably would not have a white muzzle like in the 4th alt. There’s a similar issue with the yellow 7th alt., which supposedly looks like a Golden Retriever despite having brown sock and ear patterns.

I'd appreciate if you don't undo another person's contributions without an explanation. If you have a strong reason why alts seem to be based on certain breeds, please share it here. Thanks!Nintendo101 (talk) 16:54, 26 July 2018 (EDT)

Well, first of all, I think that the alternate skins resemble a ton the certain dog breeds. Sure there are some differences, but they aren't that many and just because in Japan an animal breed isn't possible to have, it dosen't stop the developers to put those patterns in the game, and if Japan had a problem with the Rottweiler and Coonhound skin, they woudn't have put them on the game in the first place and I want that the wiki adresses which dog breeds the Duck Hunt dog represents.AnnieCat07 (talk) 17:23, 26 July 2018 (EDT)

Annie, I think you misinterpeted my point. My point was that the second alt looks like a bunch of different dogs. We have no reason to think that it's based specifically on a Coonhound, Rottweiler, or any other dog breed because a lot of dog breeds look like that. It looks as much like a Rottweiler as it does a Chihuahua. - Nintendo101 (talk) 12:18, 27 July 2018 (EDT)

Mural images[edit]

You mean well by uploading the images of SSBU characters from the mural, but I have to delete them. In addition to not giving proper credit to the author (which is this, correct?), we do not accept artwork that has been altered. If they were simply cropped it would probably be okay, but that is the limit; we do not want fan-made cut-outs or paint-overs to be placed on the wiki alongside fully official images. I noticed you're still uploading mural images, so I'm just bumping this in case you missed Toomai's message. The ones you're uploading so far are cropped images so I think they should be fine. Image for my signiture icon. OmegαToαd64 02:31, February 17, 2020 (EST)

ICs' sprite[edit]

I know you mean it with good intent, but please do not revert the IC sprite image to have transparency. Because of the white in the sprite it blends in with the white background and doesn't look right. Just to let you know we have rules against reverting another user's revert so please don't revert it again, thank you. Image for my signiture icon. OmegαToαd64 08:53, February 25, 2020 (EST)
