Darktooth is a retired Melee player from Long Island, New York, and mains Fox in Melee and Project M. He is best known for coining and discovering shine mines, a technique usable by Fox and Falco in Melee. He was previously ranked 1st on the Long Island New York Power Rankings, 59th on the 2018 MPGR, and 5th on the New York City Power Rankings. Considered to be the top Long Island Melee player rarely dropping tournaments in region, he boasts wins over KJH, ChuDat, Amsah, Cactuar, Junebug, Redd, Zamu, and Lovage at various majors, in addition to wins over Hax$, Captain Smuckers, and nearly the rest of Tristate at locals/regionals.

On August 7th, 2019, Darktooth announced that he would be retiring from competitive Melee: to focus on his career as a music teacher, with Super Smash Con 2019 being his last tournament for the forseeable future.
