Utah Power Rankings
The Utah Power Rankings is a list compiled by a pre-selected panel which lists the top ranked players of the state of Utah. The Melee Utah Power Rankings was started by Gojira on May 16, 2007. Shortly before Brawl's release, Gojira stopped updating the list, since everyone was anticipating Brawl's release. But after the release of Brawl, Gojira lost interest in it and in continuing the list, and never got to making a Brawl Power Rankings list.
Months after Brawl's release, Utah has had multiple lists based solely on a mathematical formula that lengeta suggested. But none of these lists were really made known, since they were posted in the midst of the posts of the old Power Rankings thread but never got posted in the first post of the thread. On October 6, 2008, Perfect Chaos took over management of Utah's Power Rankings. The opening list was a working list made through Perfect Chaos's sole judgment, but everyone (that spoke up) in the community agreed that it was a good list before it was officially made public. All lists after which is, and will be, decided on by a full panel.

Honorable Mentions
The following are the Utah players that are not on the current rankings list, but deserve special mentions, due to their achievement.
Mash (Samus): He retired as Utah's unofficial 3rd place (as of that time). He was playing at his peak during Utah Smash Tournament 1 (UST1).
Chao (Falco): He has placed in the top 3 in every tournament he has entered (he has entered in at least 5). Lack of recent attendance is the reason he was taken off the ranking (was first dropped from 4th to 7th due to attendance, then later removed altogether). He is unofficially retired, as he has not official said this himself, since he does not have a SWF account.
laozy (Samus): Before his removal from the rankings, he was placed 4th. His removal was due to him stating that he has retired from Melee competitive scene. He has attended an official Utah tournament after his retire declaration, however.
Khom (Sheik): He places high the majority of the time, but due to his lack of attendance, he cannot be placed on the rankings effectively. There is a good chance that he will be placed on the rankings during the next change of the list, though.
11/12/07 Joke List
This list was a fake list that was created as a joke. The creation of this fake list was due to the panel not having enough time to discuss a full list, so they decided to create a joke one to fool people. The idea came from Xsyven. On the following day, the panel pulled another joke, and uploaded the real list onto the same URL as the old list (making the image change on the power rankings thread without the "post last edited on" date changing), and then proceeded to deny that the joke list ever existed, and acted confused as to why people are complaining about some "imaginary" list. The first joke had everyone fooled, but the second joke was, obviously, seen right through.

09/17/07 Power Rankings List
The following list was short lived, due to major criticism (mainly caused by bias in the panel). Laozy was taken off the panel (due to declaring retirement) prior to the discussion of this list, and with only 4 panelists, there was no form of a tiebreaker. A new list was quickly posted the following week, using a new method of ranking.
