Paralyze

There are a few attacks in the Smash Bros. series that cause the paralyze effect. Targets hit by these attacks will be frozen in place for about two seconds, shaking back and forth. The user of the paralyzing effect can then follow up with a smash attack, making the effect very useful. Repeatedly using a paralyzing attack will not increase the duration of the effect. This is often confused with the electric effect, possibly because the sound made is similar to the electric sound.

• Link - Triforce Slash (trapping hit)
• Zelda/Sheik - Light Arrow
• Zero Suit Samus - down smash, Paralyzer (when fully charged)

Trivia

• Zero Suit Samus' d-smash and Paralyzer are the only non-Final Smash attacks with the ability to paralyze.
