Overview
Luigi's first jab is a very quick punch that knocks opponents slightly upwards. It is an extremely useful move thanks to it's very quick startup (frame 2) and very low endlag (IASA 19). It also has deceptively long range which, along with its low endlag, makes it a decent poke in neutral and a decent option out of shield. Jab 1 is also a useful move to create mixups as it can lead into a grab, Super Jump Punch or a smash attack if Luigi's opponent doesn't react fast enough. It can also be used with Jab 2 and Jab 3 to cover certain ledge options such as neutral getup and ledge getup, which can then setup for an edgeguard situatuon.
Overall, Jab 1 is one of Luigi's best tools in neutral.
