Creatures owns one-third of the copyright to the Pokémon franchise (the other two-thirds owned by Game Freak and Nintendo).
As Ape Inc., the company developed the first two entries in the EarthBound series, with EarthBound being developed with the assistance of HAL Laboratory. The company was disbanded after completing the development of EarthBound, and restructured as Creatures to help completing the development of Pokémon Red & Green.
