Smash Summit 9 is an upcoming national Super Smash Bros. Melee invitational tournament. It will be the ninth installment of the Smash Summit series for Melee, and will be held on February 13th-16th, 2020. Like previous Smash Summits, it will be held at the Summit Gaming House, a private residence house in Los Angeles, California, and will be closed to the general public.

Players invited/qualified

The following 8 players were invited by Beyond The Summit:

• The top 4 non-invited player at GENESIS 7 and the highest-placing non-invited player at Saving Mr. Lombardi 2 will be given the wildcard slots, for a total of 5 wildcard slots.

Trivia

• This is the first Smash Summit tournament where players can be eliminated by a Swiss pools format instead of the standard double-elimination format.
