- The Hero from Dragon Quest is confirmed as the second character on the Fighters Pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, launching in summer 2019, followed by Banjo & Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie as the third, launching in fall 2019.

- At The Kid, the Goat, and the Mang0, kameme, Elegant, and Raito take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles; S2J, moky, and Swedish Delight take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles. Tsu & kameme take Ultimate doubles; Swedish Delight & ChuDat take Melee doubles.

- At the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 3v3, Team Japan takes 1st place. Masahiro Sakurai confirms that the next DLC fighter will be announced at the Nintendo Direct: E3 2019.

- At Smash 'N' Splash 5, MkLeo, Samsora, and Ally take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles; Wizzrobe, Hungrybox, and Leffen take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles; SuPeRbOoMfAn, tacos, and KeroKeroppi take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Smash 64 singles. Nairo & Dark Wizzy take Ultimate doubles; SFAT & PewPewU take Melee doubles; Darkhorse & Josh Brody take Smash 64 doubles.
