Everyone has their favorite video games, and I’m no exception. So here are my top 15 favorite video games. As I said on my userpage, a lot of my favorite games are Nintendo games.

An icon used in notice templates. NOTE: This page doesn't have any Mario games on it, as that's reserved for a sub-page of its own. That sub-page can be found here. If a game has a mushroom symbol, it's on that page and not here.

How it works[edit]

I rank a game by its overall "fun-ness"; (i.e. story, good controls, gameplay, replayability), and if I think it has a banger soundtrack or not. Also, if one of your favorite non-Mario games isn't on here, it's because I either haven't played it, or I don't like it enough to rank it up in the top 15.

So, here are my top 15 favorite video games.

Donkey Kong Bananza
(2025)
Donkey Kong (universe)
Now this is a good 3D Donkey Kong. I got my Switch 2 the day it came out, and this was the second Switch 2-exclusive game I got, the first being Mario Kart World, which actually came with the console because I got the bundle. I got Bananza in August, at the very beginning of the month. This is at the top of my list of my favorite non-Mario games because the story is amazing, and so is the soundtrack. I beat the base game and I have every Banandium Gem and fossil. Each of the Bananzas are phenomenal, and Pauline also sings a banger song for each one. If you're getting a Switch 2, this is the game to get for it! I have yet to get the Emerald Rush DLC, but I think I will… eventually. (Also, take advantage of the mouse controls while you're at it. You might be able to sculpt something cool in the DK Artist mode, which you can access by pressing + when you're on the main menu.)

Kirby and the Forgotten Land
(2022)
Kirby (universe)
I bet no one was expecting a 3D Kirby game. I got it around the time it came out. I still had a Nintendo Switch at the time. For a franchise that's mainly consisted of side-scrollers since its debut in 1992, a 3D platformer in the series after (at the time) almost 30 years was kinda shocking. However, they managed to pull it off, and it didn't disappoint. I don't have the Switch 2 edition, but I'm considering getting it.

Bloons TD 6
(2018)

Rounding out the top three, we have Bloons TD 6. I don’t know why I got hooked on this game. I previously owned Bloons TD 5 (the version for mobile) before getting BTD6. I own a different version of the game than the normal version, I own the Apple Arcade version of the game, which is Bloons TD 6+, but I still refer to it as if it were its normal counterpart. I like that Ninja Kiwi updates the game regularly and they add a lot of cool towers, stages, and features. This is a very good tower defense game to play, and I have a blast playing it. For any PC gamers out there, it's on computers, as well.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate Box Art.png
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
(2018)
Super Smash Bros. (universe)
I have a lot of fun when I play Ultimate. This game combines some of my favorites such as Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and Sonic the Hedgehog and also has some lesser known franchises in the mix as well, such as EarthBound and Ice Climber. This game is very fun; until we get SSB6 for the Switch 2, I'll be playing this for a long time. While I'm halfway good at the game, I think that I need to have some fun here and there. I can play both casual and competitive, but that depends on my schedule. One of the best things about this game, like Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, is that you can take it with you! It's the best of both worlds due to being on the Switch; both a handheld and a home console. The soundtrack is amazing. All of these combined result in a game that's truly worthy of the title "Ultimate", and in Japan, "Special". This game is truly special. (See what I did there?)

Sonic Superstars
(2023)
Sonic the Hedgehog (universe)
Side-scrollers are supposed to be fun, right? Well, this is not just fun, it's very fun. There's a reason I chose to have this game this high on the list. SEGA never gave you 4-player co-op or a different power with each individual Chaos Emerald… until now! I think this is about the Sonic equivalent of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which I have also played through, and I think that the two are pretty similar. Each Emerald Power is actually pretty cool, because I bet you never expected to see a bunch of Sonic clones dashing across the screen, or Sonic turning into a fireball and dashing across the level until you played this game. Whether you have it for Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox, go ahead, invite some friends over to play this game.

Geometry Dash
(2013)
SpecialStagesSymbol.svg[1]
I don't know what got me into this game. I started playing it during the update drought, which lasted from when Update 2.1 came out (January 2017) and Update 2.2 came out (December 2023). Everyone was like "2.2 when" and tried to make their own levels depicting how they think 2.2 would work. Yes, you can make your own levels in this game. I really like the cube game, and the whole concept of a rhythm platformer in general, where you have to jump to the beat to avoid obstacles. Now, RubRub, 2.21 when?

Also, did you know that Geometry Dash was originally called "Geometry Jump"?

Minecraft
(2009)
Minecraft (universe)
I got Bedrock Edition for Christmas 2020, alongside my Switch. I like the game, and I've played it a lot. I’ve never actually "beaten" the game and slayed the Ender Dragon. (I think I might, now that I think about it.)
