Argument about Alfonzo[edit]

I'm going to give a speech on the subject. 1st, when Sakurai first showed Alfonzo driving the train, he said, "When Toon Link joins the battle, Alfonzo drives the spirit train." Then there's that post-direct screenshot showing Alfonzo without Toon Link. Toon Link has to JOIN the battle, not BE ON THE STAGE! This means that Toon Link is an unlockable, and when you play on the Spirit Train without Toon Link, Alfonzo will still drive the train. How that didn't occur to you I don't know.

While that may be possible, we can't speculate about it. We will have to wait for official confirmation. ChuckNorrisFor usage in ChuckNorris24's signature. 15:56, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
The screenshot you're referencing does not show four characters nor the entire stage, it cannot be stated that Toon Link isn't in the match the screenshot was taken. And you're making absolute claims about something that we can not know for sure. "Join the battle" does not necessarily mean "when the character is unlocked" as it can just as easily mean the character is simply in the match.
"How that didn't occur to you I don't know."
Also, do not make condescending remarks like this, especially for something you quite clearly cannot know for sure. Additionally, do not use ALL CAPS. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 16:07, 23 April 2014 (EDT)
The screenshot does have four characters, my mistake, but your claims are still too absolute to put down as fact without direct confirmation from Sakurai; we cannot claim anything for sure off of a single screenshot without context and with many potential unknown factors. perhaps alfonzo drives the train when either link is fighting?Ronin256 (talk) 21:46, 10 June 2014 (EDT)

Even more confusing is that during Comic Con, when Spirit Train was a stage that was played on during the tourney, Alfonzo wasn't there at all... 108.214.201.8 02:42, 1 August 2014 (EDT)

We Don't Need the Alfonzo Meme[edit]

It was an Internet meme, frankly not the most popular one in the grand scheme of things. Not notable, and at least not in comparison to stuff like "Falcon Punch" and the like. Smashedpotatoes (talk) 17:07, 26 August 2015 (EDT)

Yes, but the point of the trivia section is to point out things that otherwise may not be necessary on the page. It was widespread enough to deserve at least a reference, which is all it has right now. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 17:10, 26 August 2015 (EDT)
I would argue that a meme that exists for a few weeks and then burns out completely is hardly worth covering. I would agree with Potatoes on this one. Miles (talk) 17:12, 26 August 2015 (EDT)
If that's the case, then pretty much every single Smash meme should no longer be covered (except for this one. That one's still good.) Changing the head icon used. No biggie.Aidan, Master of Speed and AuraPer Request, for User:Aidanzapunk. 17:28, 26 August 2015 (EDT)
That's a misunderstanding. Long-running ones, ones with widespread use, are all worth covering. Stuff like Wombo Combo, Johnning, Nipple Spike, etc. are among unofficial terms, lingo, and memes that are still relevant and used today. Smashedpotatoes (talk) 17:52, 26 August 2015 (EDT)
Not to mention the Villager meme stuck it out for a while, plus was covered in news outlets and acknowledged by Ninty. Same goes for the Luigi death stare to an even further extend (though that's for Mario Kart, same principle). Smashedpotatoes (talk) 18:09, 26 August 2015 (EDT)

Birds?[edit]

Is it just me, or the upper platform just floats with no birds at all in the final version? --Menshay (talk) 05:42, 2 September 2015 (EDT)

It's not just you. They seem to have been removed in the final game. The people who wrote this article haven't seemed to have noticed that. --anonymous editor
