SluG is a Super Smash Bros. Melee Ice Climbers main from Philadelphia. He began competing in the mid-2010s but did not gain national prominence until the early-2020s, where he became one of the first successful Ice Climbers players in a post-Wobbling metagame. He was best known for his performances in 2022, which featured several top 8 performances at majors, most notably at Double Down 2022, where he defeated Zain; at Ludwig Smash Invitational, where he defeated Mang0, moky, and Jmook; and at Mainstage 2022, where he defeated Leffen. As such, he became the best Ice Climbers player in the early 2020s, ranking 9th on the SSBMRank 2022 as the highest-ranking Ice Climbers player in the post-pandemic metagame, the first to crack into the top 10 since ChuDat on the Summer 2017 SSBMRank, and the first to do so on a full-year ranking since Wobbles on the SSBMRank 2013.
