Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules, Briefly

  1. You can only vote once.
  2. Vote under the name of the fighter you are voting for.
  3. When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted for that fighter, or you can just leave your signature.
  4. ALWAYS put # when you vote so it can help us count the votes!!
  5. ALWAYS put in your signature with ~~~~. This is required whether you have an account or not.
  6. Any comments about the fight should be left in the comments sections.
  7. If you wish to leave a comment in more than one section, do not edit each section individually.
  8. Don't leave a space between your post and the posts above and below yours.
  9. Place your vote in accordance to the signs stating "DO NOT POST BELOW THIS LINE" and such.

Impending Rules Change

The recent influx of users has raised the voting population considerably. However, this leads to more votes that are improperly added, despite the rules being in plain sight; and there is no consequence for doing so, leaving those users unlikely to do it right next time.

Therefore, starting Round 61, any vote that is incorrectly added (no # used, not signed with ~~~~, placed in ignorance of the "DO NOT POST BELOW THIS LINE" signs) will be worth half its regular value, unless the original voter catches their mistake and corrects it before someone else does.

In the Smash Arena's early days, the rule was that any unsigned post was worth zero. This rule change is not as strict but nevertheless provides incentive to follow what is, after all, a rule across the entire wiki (specifically SW:SIGN; other vote errors aren't against any wiki rules but are still against Smash Arena rules).

Unless a significant majority of the voting population disagrees with this new rule (if you disagree, post in the comment section of the current fight), this rule change will begin Round 61.

Two Final Smashes involving mass numbers of minions are the subject of this round! One army fights for justice, while the other fights for...uh, whatever the fat penguin wants to at the time. But that doesn't make them any less formidable! It's the two armies (and possibly their leaders) against each other in the first clash of the '60s.

  1. Palutena's Army has done plently more for me than dedede's army. while dedede is a better character than pit in my book, pit has the better final smash.

It's the two Pokémon that have been Smashers from the beginning - they're both short lightweight creatures with a penchant for saying their own names and not much else. Which one of the two will win this particular battle?

  1. Pikachu has a good punishing move, decent recovery, spammable projectile, several quick moves, and such. I have not been a fan of Pikachu from the series, but I choose it because Jigglypuff simply isn't good to me. Jigglypuff may have amazing recovery, but lacks several other things. I can single f-smash a Jigglypuff to punish it because, lets be honest, a d-tilt is inaccurate, dair is likely to miss, a fair can lead to punishment and a gimp kill, and the like.--MegaTron1XD:p 10:22, 6 November 2010 (EDT)

I don't remember a Giga Bowser vs. Master Hand, but I do remember a Giga Bowser vs. Crazy Hand...I try to keep the queue secret to maintain intrigue, but generally matchups that are more off-the-wall are put in rounds that are a multiple of 5, or special numbers. In a way. I take suggestions from this page and use the community's reaction to gage what to choose; in the end it's my decision, so I can also put up unsuggested bouts and the like.
