Scintilla is Sephiroth's down special move. It is a counterattack.
Overview
Sephiroth creates a barrier of cyan hexagons in front of himself, which forms into a cloud of damaging sparkles when the counter is activated. Unlike most counterattacks, the attack is triggered even if Sephiroth is not attacked, activating after a short time. When this happens, the move strikes at minimum power. The move also cannot counter attacks that deal more than a certain amount of damage; the barrier instead breaks, though Sephiroth will not take damage unless it was a multi-hit move. He is also vulnerable from behind.
