Timber (タネ植え／水やり／伐採, Plant Seed/Watering/Lumbering) is Villager's down special move. The Villager plants a seed in the ground. After this, the move can be used again in proximity of the seed to water it. Almost immediately, a full tree sprouts. If the Villager is away from the seed, using the input again will create a wind hitbox. The tree can stay on the field for a while, but can later be chopped down by the Villager. The Villager, when in proximity of the tree, swings their axe at it. If the Villager is somewhere else and uses the move while the tree is on the stage, he will swing his axe as an attack. It takes two swings in order to chop the tree. The tree then does enormous damage to anyone in the way, as well as heavy knockback, and spawns two woodchip items that can be thrown for small damage. The tree can also be sent down edges, meteor smashing anyone nearby. Other characters can destroy the tree, although this will simply cause the tree to disappear without harming other characters. The tree will also automatically disappear on its own if after some time.
Origin
In the Animal Crossing series, the player can buy an axe from Tom Nook's store. This axe can be used to clear pathways by cutting down trees. The tree takes two swings to fall. After this, the player must use his shovel to get rid of the stump. The axe will take damage every use. The player can also buy tree seeds and plant them in the ground. If there are no trees nearby, it will grow. In the actual games, watering trees does not work.
The Watering Can and seeds can be purchased from Tom Nook's store in older games, and in the gardening shop in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. By planting a seed in the ground, the player can help it grow into a tree by watering it.
