Yeah, I'm that short-tempered guy who was disruptive a long time ago on Discord. I'm well known in some circles for leaving the platform in mid-2022 permanently to work on wiki projects quietly.

I primarily edit Smashpedia; it's mainly to give it a total structural overhaul, treat Super Mario Wiki's SSB content with dignity (let alone most their 2000s and some 2010s as well), and remove SmashWiki's early stuff there so it's not being mined by Fandom SEO while still having suitable content available.

Oh, yeah, I'm the founder of the ill-fated Conker Wiki.

I also host a read-only SSB Universes wiki that's about full coverage of every universe in the SSB series. It's for fun, not intended to be a "market alternative". I also host 12 other wikis, but registration is locked for all 13 to request-only to ensure creative control; this means coverage to unhinged extents, like Banjo and Conker on DK Wiki, full coverage of Nintendo crossover titles on a Mario wiki, separate Yoshi and Wario wikis for their respective franchises, covering Animal Crossing NES furniture games in their entirety, and more. I'd say they all honor the foundational spirit behind SSB.

The past

Adding these here since people will inevitably have questions. I'm posting some older messages I made elsewhere. Apologies if there's any bias in the text, since I'm posting them as-is. Both are long, so I'm collapsing them, and to spare you from reading my rants if you don't want. Please keep in mind that they have no bearing on what I do here, even if history may have led down unexpected turns in my wiki career.

SMW and Mario Wiki (Fandom)

I'm going to discuss imports from SMW, after several paragraphs of background information. Over time, the wiki has become more a complex topic than it may seem, since culture, people, and especially articles change over time. Keep in mind I often dislike imports because they can mess up a page history and usually point to nonexistent editors on a wiki. I'll need to give some background since I know the wiki very, VERY well. I remember reading articles there like Doki Doki Panic back in 2007, the greatest year the wiki ever had, when i was in elementary school.

Super Mario Wiki was founded in Aug 2005. Fandom didn't get its own until almost two entire years later, in July 2007, because everyone loved the SMW and didn't see a need for a Fandom equivalent. Nevertheless, one did get made, and people who loved Fandom used the wiki, or people who just wanted to experiment on an alternate site. Historically, some disliked it, like Wayoshi, though editors like Xzelion and Max2 made some very few edits here.

Super Mario Wiki was not a NIWA wiki from its inception. Pretty much all other wikis in NIWA were anti-Fandom from the get-go (e.g. WiKirby) or were forks of communities (e.g. Pikipedia). In fact, the Super Mario Wiki founded a few wikis on Fandom themselves, including RareWiki (which was to rehouse their B-K and Conker coverage, even), Fantendo, and Kirby Wiki. They just can't affiliate with their very latter creation because they are in NIWA, where ZW made WiKirby in early 2010.

SMWiki had roughly all the qualities that a Fandom wiki had, being a colorful, fun, and encyclopedic resource trusted and beloved by gamers. I'd say they weren't anti-Fandom in their early days so much as they didn't really want another Mario wiki (or see the need for it) because there already existed one. They created two popular Fandom communities--Fantendo and Kirby--history can't be changed. Not even Bulbapedia was ever so involved with Fandom, and I'd call them the true embodiment of anti-Fandom because their CC-BY-NC-SA license prohibits the content from being reused on commercial platforms.

I honestly think that the existence of SMWiki is/was justified if not only for the reason that it allowed the cultivation of other Mario-related wikis on Fandom, like Wario Wiki, Donkey Kong Wiki, and Mario Kart Wiki--and I generally feel uncomfortable with the thought of one wiki overshadowing others (admittedly something that I worry this wiki will do), which I think Mario is infamous for because for people like me, the question of "what is Mario?" is a lot more complex than it sounds. The fellow German wiki here on Fandom is even the go-to for SSB information, and redirected to their site.

In early 2010, SMW was asked by ZW and Bulbapedia to join NIWA. The proprietor and founder porplemontage refused and was skeptical, though they insisted that he make the wiki join the alliance. Source: https://www.mariowiki.com/MarioWiki:About#NIWA . This is when the true slow but gradual downfall of the wiki began.

Super Mario Wiki and this wiki (Mario Wiki) were developing in separate lanes. Both resources were used by gamers, and SMW has always been seen as the more complete option. I remember seeing some threads here dating to...2019/2020? where this wiki shone out for some of its Fandom-centric features like the Discussions. Regardless, both wikis had lots of time to develop separately.

I made the mistake of collaborating with the SMW in late 2010s/early 2020s to do a couple of wikis, like conkerwiki.com and crashbandicootwiki.com. The reason I was anti-Fandom at the time is because they got rid of the Monobook skin, which I love with a burning passion and feel utmost strongly about (I still very much wish it weren't removed from the platform here). They only forbid linking to forks, but I'll get to that more in a sec.

So as for some those two example wiki communities I mentioned, it originally was because I wanted to revitalize the spirit behind when the SMW created their own wikis, like Fantendo, Userpedia, and Kirby Wiki. I thought it would all work out well (spoiler: it didn't).

What I didn't understand was that what I had in mind was not what everyone else had in mind. I didn't want like conkerwiki.com to be a "fill in the blanks" off-site Fandom wiki to be part of a mounting anti-Fandom agenda run by people who find clout the most important thing. I wanted there to be the classic Super Mario Wiki identity to it, not hollow fill-in-the-blanks.

I think it all kind of showed in April 2019, when triforcewiki.com was created. At the time, there was zelda.fandom.com in the alliance, as Zelda Wiki was sold to gamepedia in 2017, then fandom bought gamepedia the end of 2018. some SMW editors already wanted their own Zelda wiki, so there was that. triforce wiki would hope to preserve the true sentiment behind what it meant to be an independent wiki, in the face of NIWA, who refused to kick out their "golden cow" ZW, who conceived their alliance to begin with, and the years of conflict and mess that'd ensure down the line. staffers from other niwa wiki literally demonized me for doing the right thing despite their alliance explicitly stating no fandom-owned wikis allowed. So there's the triple whammy of me missing the monobook skin sentiment, the classic SMW community spirit, and being mauled upon by bad staff members from other wikis who only use "the person did these bad things" as a form of a defense against dissidents.

I think the idea was that SMW would take matters into their own hands with not just Mario but several things connected to it, like Zelda, Banjo, SSB. Exiting NIWA to solve those problems on one's own, so to speak, and further establish a true, independent identity as an independently hosted wiki from expectations from other wikis, who even wanted them to get rid of all their SSB coverage (which is basically dead in the water there, anyway).

Early 2022 i did something really bad that cost me like 75% my friendships (i deserved it tbh). i took advantage of the really bad thing i did to try and use as bait toward the people who defended fandom-owned Zelda Wiki being in their alliance. the result? only upset and angered the people i didn't intend to do. hosting of conkerwiki.com and similar communities that I worked on with some fellow SMW community members were hosted by someone else, and they gave me the boot, so there was that problem as well. This occurred in March 2022.

Now in April 2022, i felt there was nothing to lose. I did a proposal about removing ZW as an interwiki link since it would be considered redundant with the existence of built-in Fandom interwiki'ing: https://www.mariowiki.com/MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive/58#Remove_Zelda_Wiki_as_an_interwiki_link

Dont be fooled-- that is when the staff of that wiki started caring and daring to tell the community that i was baddie and attempted to stir life-ruining allegations about me out of thin air to sway public opinion against me. so that they could be the "good guys" and defend their then-contradictory manifesto. it was never about the other bad thing i did to them (except some of the other lower tier editors, who were legit mad at me, but not the staff there).

So basically my entire online life got destroyed; one could say some part of it was my own doing, but there's also the matter that it was all coordinated for an entirely different reason (that proposal I linked above). private staff logs from niwa's discord server would expose what'd really occurred for certain. Out of personal safety, I permanently quit Discord around the time that all occurred because I don't want to bother dealing with society, drama, and all their problems.

After permaban I rebranded RPG gamer/NSMBFan's miraheze wiki to Mariopedia and apologized majorly for my over 27K contributions: https://www.mariowiki.com/Special:Editcount/Results_May_Vary . A lot of it was a merge the forked DK Wiki into their wiki, which i strongly regret helping out on. Truth be told, it wasn't done properly because not all the original authors are accounted for, and we'd need to get an original XML dump of dkwiki.com for proper evaluation. Paper Jorge (who was around on SMW since 2006) even did a few articles on Mariopedia when I invited him, but that was temporary & hes too busy to do wikis nowadays.

I remember adding a few articles here after permaban because I did not want my content to be solely stuck on a wiki that gave me the boot. I've encouraged others indirectly to readd all the content I did on independent wikis back into Fandom, as it's unfair to say that it should be attached to virtue-signaling about anti-Fandom this yadayada.

When I heard from NSMBFan that he was editing here, I wanted to pitch in to help, and there's certainly a lot that needed it! Throughout 2023, I had a full-time commitment to working as hard as I can to get the wiki up to standard, and I think I got #1 spot on the badges list (not that I care about those, but it seems properly merit-based because I never badge-farmed). Sadly he left the internet forever for unexplained reasons since around January 1, 2024. This year and 2025, I've been helping several other Fandom wikis, like Zelda Wiki and Pokemon Wiki to try and grace them with the support I gave.

So for imports, there's a few reasons why it's worth considering, but not the only form of work from staff members. I've already experimented on such a system with the articles Piranha Panic, Barrel Batter, and D.E.B.S. (which didn't have an article here previously). And I feel concerned if it were something being done behind your back.

Piranha Panic and Barrel Batter were originally authored by "Anonymous" -- that person is actually Crocodile Dippy (formerly Pokemon DP), who requested an account deletion on the SMWiki very recently: https://www.mariowiki.com/MarioWiki:Account_services#Delete:_Crocodile_Dippy . With that said, not all the contributors are bound to the Super Mario Wiki. Many from years ago moved on, some were permabanned (like me) and wouldn't mind content reused elsewhere (something that I even want so that they aren't the primary resource misrepresenting what I worked extremely hard on).

Fandom once had a wiki titled marioparty.wikia.com that had all its content integrated into here. then the wiki closed in 2012. Unfortunately there's no proper backup of all the edit histories that exist (aside from physical storage, which Fandom Support told me, but it's only for emergencies). The merge was done improperly because the list of authors was not preserved, per what is required by the CC-BY-SA. Regardless of whether it's affiliated or agreed by a few community members, I prefer to add content the correct way, either from the painstaking ground-up approach that I did or reusing and attributing appropriately, whether through a disclaimer or (at least on Fandom) preserving the logs (i generally dislike this because the editors generally do not exist locally offsite, and the revision IDs are inflated). It's not a matter of "no one cares" to me -- it's me wanting to do it the right way.

This opens the possibility of using the original content, otherwise it'll just sit in Internet limbo.

Something that left me incredibly offended when reading was when someone said the early SMW community was "wet behind its ears" in 2007. They're currently looking to get rid of one their infobox tempates from back then (I'm not asking for it here btw, don't worry): https://www.mariowiki.com/Template_talk:SSB_fighter_infobox#Retire_SSB_fighter_infobox . With that attitude, why let them be the sole means of representation of what they don't care one bit about?

Many of the articles here are paraphrased from theirs. It's unfortunately the case. I'm not advocating to import literally everything, especially for articles here done from the ground up, like by you. It's just that preserving logs from up to the revision the copying had occurred (without the disclaimer) allows for ease of comparison. I'd prob set up an "Archives" project page for some articles so that the edit histories don't get mixed together badly, especially in certain cases where there's like 200+ edits. I do feel, though, that'd also be a matter of discretion, since it can't be all the content.

And it's interesting because often wikis fork from Fandom wholesale, and this would be in part a precedent of it occurring the other way around. I know I'd certainly want to add my work from conkerwiki.com back over to conker.fandom.com (if I were staff, that is).

NIWA

Not sure the number [of wikis where I was banned], but it's def over five. I'll do my best to give a transparent account as to what occurred. So this was from a few years ago. Out of respect towards others involved, I won't give names. There were people who didn't like me for trying to hold NIWA accountable for defending the inclusion of zelda.fandom.com, since it seemed about as logical as Cartoon Network doing live-action shows. One of the ZW executives was always in my friends list, so I wasn't inherently excluding ties to anyone linked to ZW, I just didn't like the lack of logic and was irate about it and wished more people understood me.

I was way more irresponsible and reckless with my conduct, using profanity and slurs as well as picking fights with random people on Discord. Some of them alleged harassment, since I was quite loud about it, but a clear instance of it occurred in early 2022, when I targeted someone for pursuing a full-time librarian career. This was at a time I was being spoonfed tons of conspiracy theories (which made me suffer) and the librarian's code of "upholding intellectual freedom" sounded like complicity in an alleged New World Order plot, like they wanted to control what books we read, what information we know, and so forth. And I passed along gossip and insults about the person to everyone. I deeply regret what I did, and the person's friends did good at sticking up for them. My friends list was dropping like flies. I left Discord, stating that I'd never do such a thing again. Three years later, I've still stuck to my word, and that's about the most I can do on behalf of people who dislike me.

I still have my reservations about librarians: that part hasn't changed. Librarians always do this "shhhhhh" in public libraries, even if you drop a pencil on the ground lol. I guess it's just my view point that libraries should be hangout spots, since it's a publicly available building generally with lots of space, and if people want to read books quietly, they can do so in designated book clubs, even if they're rooms in libraries with their own sound barriers. So much unexplored potential to be had. Now even if I hadn't done all the profanity and stuff mentioned above, people were getting upset at me because I said "librarians are karens," to which they said stuff like "it's their job". Nobody gave a clear argument to the contrary, and some think I'm still insincere due to my dislike of librarian practices.

Now, I was also trying to play into trying to give people a clear reason to antagonize me because it seemed like no progress was being made at preserving the integrity of indie wikis from association with a Fandom-owned wiki in their alliance. The toxic people who targeted and hated me didn't jump to the rescue of the person whom I targeted. I upset the people I didn't intend to.

Then about one month later, feeling I had nothing to lose by that point, I made a proposal about removing zelda.fandom.com as an interwiki link, stating "the MediaWiki software allows links to Fandom wikis, so it's redundant." It was also me trying to upset some people and use the bad things I did (like picking on the person pursuing a librarian career) as a skin-suit for "look at me, I have common sense! I'm the antagonist!" They didn't play into that at all: they colluded in secret and manufactured these several false allegations and used screencaps of me using slurs and profanity to try and get everyone to hate me to defend the wiki: that is what we call a hit piece. Unlike the people I didn't want to upset (and were rightfully angry at me for targeting someone), they didn't defend that person at all, nor did they even mention the person. They made it all about how I'm all these bad things rolled into one and made all these statements completely out of nowhere, all because of a silly proposal over a silly interwiki link. And then the permaban occurred on the Super Mario Wiki, from the coordinated hit piece they did on me any place they could, appealing to emotion over rationality.

And that's my story about why I hate Discord and social platforms with a fiery hot passion: When things occur, it spreads like wildfire between communities. They say the internet never forgets as well. Meanwhile, places like this are self-contained with their own culture and all, just like the Internet was in the 1990s and 2000s.

Also, zeldawiki.wiki is on okay terms with me & I'm a friend with one of the executives, who believes in forgiveness because I felt like an irredeemable crime for everything that occurred and all the mistakes I had made. If an exec of the primary wiki I targeted at the time can forgive me, I want to say that I'd strongly implore other indie wikis to do the same.

Nowadays?

I have long term goals to also completely redo Zelda Wiki's stuff on Fandom so that it's no longer on there either. I was banned from ZW.wiki for saying really bad things about someone whom I'm resentful toward. However, I still maintain a line of contact with one of the execs from ZW and continue to give good word about the user to date.

SmashWiki is basically the last place on NIWA where I'm allowed, so I'm going to try extra hard not to mess it up here. It also helps that Smash is a crossover series at its core, so I can write about various Nintendo topics if it gives background or context to Smash-related elements. I've always got along with one the staff members here and exchanged Switch FC's some years back. Also, there's been a lot of SmashWiki plagiarism on Fandom that's been there since 2015, and I'm eager to help get all that removed (even stuff from before the forking).

The bitter divide between me and various older SMW contributors runs deep (see "The Past" section above). I'm not bringing that up here for obvious reasons, even if contributors there edit here. I do get along with at least one or two of the editors there, so I'm not going to automatically dislike someone just because they edit SMW.

In the past I had creative conflict with a different staff member on how to do Jiggywikki. Nowadays, the user has my full support to do however see fit.

Hollow Bastion

Hollow Bastion is an important world in the Kingdom Hearts series, appearing in multiple cutscenes and repeatedly being alluded to leading up to its appearance as the penultimate world of the first game, and making numerous appearances as both a playable and non-playable world in the future games in the series. Though the original release of Kingdom Hearts first showed the world as the headquarters of Hades, Jafar, Ursula, Captain Hook, Oogie Boogie, and Maleficent after Sora meets with Donald Duck and Goofy in Traverse Town, the Final Mix version of the game adds an additional cutscene that plays after Sora fights Squall Leonhart earlier in that same world, where it's revealed that Riku ended up in Hollow Bastion after the Heartless attack on Destiny Islands, and shows a shot of Maleficent at the very end, alluding to her eventual manipulating of Riku. Later cutscenes reveal that Maleficent and the other villains are watching Sora's progress through the worlds, and kidnapping the Princesses of Heart, including Kairi, to open the Door to Darkness. After Sora, Donald, and Goofy visit Neverland, where they learn that Riku and the villains have obtained Kairi, they travel further to Hollow Bastion, where Riku reveals himself to be the true Keyblade wielder instead of Sora. As a result, Sora loses the Keyblade, along with Donald and Goofy due to their mission being to stay with the wielder of the Keyblade. With help from Beast, Sora travels through the giant castle with only a wooden sword to make his way to Riku, and challenges him to a battle—to his and Riku's surprise, Goofy and Donald rejoin Sora, and Sora gives a heartfelt speech, causing the Keyblade to return to him as well. After defeating Riku, the group travels further to confront Maleficent, though after emerging victorious, Riku, now possessed by Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, stabs Maleficent with the Keyblade of heart, unlocking the darkness within her. Sora once again faces Maleficent, now transformed into a dragon, and again emerges victorious. The trio finally confront Riku at the Grand Hall, where Riku reveals to Sora that Kairi's heart is residing in him. After the two have an intense battle, Sora, realizing he is unable to lock Hollow Bastion's keyhole without all seven Princesses of Heart, stabs himself with the Keyblade of heart to free Kairi's heart. This causes Sora to fall to darkness, and Kairi, Donald, and Goofy leave him for gone, until they realize that he was turned into a Shadow Heartless, and Kairi is able to return him to normal by a flash of light. The four escape Hollow Bastion, and return to Traverse Town to request a Gummi Ship upgrade from Cid, which allows them to swiftly return to Hollow Bastion to seal the keyhole, and prevent Ansem from destroying the castle with a Behemoth. Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith arrive shortly after Sora defeats the Behemoth via Cid's ship, having wanted to see their childhood home one more time, and explain to Sora that though the world borders will close after Sora defeats Ansem and they may never see each other again, they'll always remember him.

Hollow Bastion returns as a location in Kingdom Hearts II, with the efforts of Leon, Yuffie, Aerith, Cid, and Merlin (forming the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee) helping return the town to how it was prior to the events of the previous games. In contrast to its late game appearance in the original Kingdom Hearts, it is the second world visited in Kingdom Hearts II, accessible after Sora meets with Yen Sid at The Mysterious Tower, itself an extension of Twilight Town. The world serves as a hubworld of sorts, with the player frequently needing to make return trips to it for various purposes, and also houses two separate worlds in itself, being Space Paranoids (accessible via Hollow Bastion's computer system) and 100 Acre Wood (accessible via an old book in Merlin's house)—like the first game, the player can find torn pages scattered across the worlds, and return to Hollow Bastion to put them in the book and continue the story. An additional area in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix is the Cavern of Remembrance, which contains replica data of the members of Organization XIII that Sora can fight in the Garden of Assemblage, located at the end of the cavern. Hollow Bastion also serves as an important plot device, with undoubtedly the most important event being Mickey Mouse finally reuniting with Sora, Donald, and Goofy. The three reveal to him that, within Space Paranoids, Tron can access the DTD dataspace with a password. Mickey, realizing that they can find where Ansem the Wise is, gives them the password—the seven Princesses of Heart (Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Alice, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Kairi). The three join Tron and are able to find the data, which, while restoring Tron's functions, gives the Master Control Program access to Hollow Bastion's entire system, with it threatening to self-destruct the town. Tron quickly changes the password to Sora, Donald, and Goofy, which prevents the Master Control Program from accessing the data, but the Master Control Program still threatens to upload a Hostile Program into the real world. After the four defeat the Hostile Program, Sora, Donald, and Goofy leave Space Paranoids and copy the data over, albeit in a very scrambled state. Shortly afterwards, they are alerted by an explosion, and, defying Mickey's order to search for Riku and Kairi, join the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee, the Gullwings, Cloud, Tifa, and Stitch in fighting off an immense wave of Heartless. During the battle, Saïx reveals to Sora Organization XIII's plan to gather the hearts released by the Heartless by Sora's Keyblade to form a new Kingdom Hearts. Maleficent appears and gives unexpected but brief support, attempting to best Saïx with Heartless of her own and sacrificing herself against his Nobodies, before sending Sora, who is now hesitant to fight the Heartless, into a Corridor of Darkness to escape the battle, which contains clues left by Riku that point him to Twilight Town and eventually The World That Never Was. Later, after Sora helps Tron defeat Sark and the Master Control Program, Tron gains access to the main computers of Hollow Bastion, and Ansem the Wise's full data, reminding everyone there of the town's original name: Radiant Garden.

Radiant Garden's history is explored in Birth by Sleep, where it is fully seen in its original state as a city of light, and explored by Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. Ventus, the first to arrive, sees Mickey heading towards the castle, and follows him, but the guards of the castle gate, Dilan and Aeleus, prevent him from doing so, before being reprimanded by Even for doing so. Ventus then sees a giant Unversed flying around, and chases after it, in the process protecting Scrooge McDuck in the town square, who gives him three lifetime passes to Disney Town as gratitude. Terra, the second to arrive, sees Xehanort in the town and tries to follow him, before he notices a giant Unversed flying around. Aqua, the third to arrive, hears from Scrooge McDuck that someone was headed for the castle—thinking it was Terra, she heads there, only to find a young Kairi attacked by Unversed, and intends to defend her, before Mickey steps in and offers a helping hand. The two defeat the Unversed, and Aqua notes how she sensed a lot of light within Kairi, determining that she's someone they should protect. Mickey agrees and intends to team up with Aqua, before his Star Shard whisks him away. Shortly after, Kairi's grandmother picks her up, but not before Aqua places a magic spell over Kairi that will protect her light should she ever be threatened. She then sees a giant Unversed flying around, and chases after it, meeting up at the town's reactor with Terra and Ventus, and the three fight the Trinity Armor, the three parts combined into one giant boss. Afterwards, Ventus gives the Disney Town passes to Terra and Aqua, and comments on how he defeated a masked boy who was badmouthing Terra—Terra confirms that it was Vanitas, and tells Ventus to go home with Aqua, but Aqua confronts Terra about his association with the darkness in previous worlds he visited, causing Terra to believe that Aqua is spying on him on behalf of their master, Eraqus, and Ventus to deduce that Aqua's new title of Keyblade Master has changed her. Terra ventures down into the lower parts of the castle, finding Braig, who openly admits to having captured Xehanort, who specifically wanted Terra to save him. The two fight, with Xehanort insisting that Terra use his powers of darkness, which Terra eventually does, and Xehanort compliments Terra's skill, even claiming him worthy of the Keyblade Master title himself. When Terra leaves, Ventus tries to join him, but is turned down—he is similarly turned down after attempting to join Aqua as well. However, after saving Ienzo from a swarm of Unversed, he runs into Isa and Lea after dropping his toy wooden sword, and Lea challenges him to a duo and loses. The two become friends, with Lea declaring to Isa that he wants to be friends with everyone so that he can be remembered; Ventus remembers his own friends, and leaves by himself.

In the Final Episode of Birth by Sleep, Aqua returns to Radiant Garden to find Terra after the trio's final battle against Xehanort, only to discover that Xehanort overtook and possessed Terra, becoming Terra-Xehanort. The two battle, and the end result causes Terra-Xehanort to force Terra's half out of his body, which causes Terra-Xehanort to fall into darkness; Aqua uses her Keyblade Armor to send him back to the Realm of Light, at the cost of her being stuck in the Realm of Darkness. When Terra-Xehanort awakes, he is found by Ansem the Wise, and taken under his wing as a pupil. In Melody of Memory, it is revealed that, in between the events of Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts, Kairi was abducted by Terra-Xehanort, to be used in his experiments to send her into the oceans between worlds. He believes her to be a Princess of Heart, and would thus be able to find a world with a Keyblade wielder in it; she does, and lands in Destiny Islands, though this is actually due to Aqua's protective spell placed on her. When Destiny Islands is attacked in Kingdom Hearts, Kairi's heart chooses Sora as a new vessel while her body is relocated elsewhere, though Sora is unaware of this course of events; however, it is alluded to in Deep Jungle, where the Hollow Bastion castle itself is among a collection of slides shown to Tarzan by Jane, and Sora notes how, despite never having been there himself, the castle looks familiar to him.

Radiant Garden also briefly reappears, albeit only in cutscenes, in Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts III, with an additional small playable section in III's Re Mind DLC; Hollow Bastion is also recreated as part of Sora's memories and Jiminy Cricket's journal in Chain of Memories and coded, respectively (as well as their remakes).

Dive to the Heart serves as the starting location in the original Kingdom Hearts, and has become a recurring location used frequently for tutorials. In the numbered Kingdom Hearts titles, the player learns basic combat and game controls here. Each character has their own station adorned with symbols and important individuals, and often appear as a dreamlike realm. Battles atop the station can occur whenever an individual enters another heart, such as Roxas briefly attempting to overpower Sora while the former was merged with the latter.
