Tournament talk:Marco Man Monday Marco's 21st Birthday Bash
Ummm, this was a sanctioned San Diego tournament. It holds just as much weight as any other recent tournament in San Diego, like The Ultimate Underground or Gema No Michi. I gave the tournament it's own page because it was a one-off tournament that didn't fit into any San Diego tournament series. Sure, the tournament name is long and egregious, but that's the only negative I can plainly see. DRIVER (talk) 22:43, September 24, 2026 (UTC)
- I mean, looking at the tournament page you linked, it's pretty clear that this was a casual event that was held for fun, and wasn't intended to be taken as a serious competition (this is evident by the fact that it was also a BYOB drinking game). And I doubt any of the attendees really brought their A-game (since again, it wasn't really about winning, but about having fun), so the results probably aren't all that meaningful either. I'm not trying to throw shade at Marco Man or the other players involved or anything, I just don't really see how something like this can really be classified as a "tournament" in the same sense as what we would typically describe as a tournament on the wiki. Also isn't this page basically doxxing Marco Man? Alex the Weeb 22:56, September 24, 2026 (UTC)
Is it doxxing? If you're going to put your address on a public website like start.gg, then you've pretty much already doxxed yourself, right? Regardless of the state of the tournament, there were still plenty of PR players who actually were putting in effort into winning, but if this tournament still doesn't meet the vague tournament notability guidelines, then I'll disappointedly accept having this page being removed. - Judging by how we have events like The Mango, Nairo's Birthday Bash Invitational, and Bad Things Happening to Good People exist, this event is fine. Does this event have a prize pool by any chance? Cookies
Creme 04:38, September 25, 2026 (UTC) - Also in regards to Marco Man's address being there, the old Tournament Go events literally have Matt Deezie's old address there. If someone publicly puts their address out there as the venue I don't see why we shouldn't be adding it, especially since many events have had their addresses privated or set to just a generic location if they want to. - I mean, the scale and publicity of those tournaments is considerably greater than this one. Also Mango, Nairo and WhyDo are all well-known throughout the community, which I would argue gives any tournaments they organise more notability. ig if I'm alone in thinking this page is rather frivolous then I'll back off, but it just seems to me like our standards for what qualifies as a notable tournament are way too lenient if this is considered notable. - The standards are lenient for a reason, though. The site is one of the best ways to archive tournaments in case their respective sites go down. Once AllIsBrawl went down, a lot of Brawl events became lost to time. Even in this current era, events like Temple: Hermes Edition and the Canada Cup series has been nuked from Start.gg.
- Obviously, it's lenient within reason, like we can't have random single-digit entrants events get their own page. This one at least features a good amount of notable SoCal/San Diego players (and Terrarian from Singapore, apparently). Cookies

Glad to see that the final decision is to keep the page up. Yes, there was drinking and it may not have been the most serious tournament of all time, but considering it got quite a lot of attendance (at least for San Diego standards), a good chunk of PR players and the fact that no one bats an eye when I add a 5 person weekly to the website, I would have been thoroughly disappointed if this page was deleted. Thank you, guys. DRIVER (talk) 03:50, September 30, 2026 (UTC)
